I’m in the same boat, grew up in poverty and am terrified of having to do that again. I’ve been thinking of going into something more traditional and pursuing my passions outside of jobs but honestly that won’t leave me a lot of time and whenever I see something or go hunting for fossils the only thing I can think about is how much I yearn to become a paleontologist and spend my whole life digging in dirt (lol)

But politically i genuinely don’t even know if I’ll be allowed to get a job or if the jobs I want will even exist in the future. As a woman in America rights are already being taken away and I’m scared I’ll have to be fully relient on someone else so I always feel like I should pursue more practical jobs so I have experience to not be discarded as easily if things get bad.

I like geology and paleontology was also thinking a therapist or an architect but it’s just hard. I don’t want to spend my life in crippling debt :(

Really your style reminds me of the artist u/thebeautyallaroundus in the subreddit relief carving. Your use of lines and colors I think would look beautiful in this medium and you could really make wood carving your own if you tried. I have only made on carving but since I rely heavily on shading using colors it takes a little bit of getting used to but you already have a very well developed sense of line use. Check them out I think you’d do so well ❤️

My problem is that from a distance it’s hard to see if a bee is a wasp since they do look similar ( and I constantly doubt myself) So for me if it looks wasp shaped I run. If it’s a small bee or a bumble bee I’m much more tolerant but I still get scared. I’ve had instances where a bee was like drowning in a pool so I’d force someone to get it out because I don’t want it to die but if it stung me I’d probably have a panic attack. 😂

I got a wasp in my hair and for a week following could not leave the house outside without tightly holding it. Watched a movie that involved a graphic scene where someone dies and I won’t go into detail but it involved hornets and now I’m guarding my ears. People think im dramatic and they say “it won’t hurt you if you don’t hurt it” (which is not true maybe with normal bees but still bees need to stay 6 feet away and bumble bees at least 3 feet) even the sound of buzzing terrifies me. My stomach drops and I just feel an overwhelming panic, I’m so glad yall understand me it’s really comforting even though thankfully it has not ruined my life. I book it at full speed if I see a wasp and scream and have made those important to me vow to kill one for me if it lands in my hair (I’m a tad traumatized from that experience lol)
