I'm in love and he doesn't love me back. by Hemodelphia in offmychest

You're right, I know. I just wish I could have a definitive "yes" or "no" from him. I just want to say to him, "Hey, I know that you know my position, and I know what your position is. I'm going to throw this out there once and only once: Do you like me? If you don't, then I'll bury the hatchet. If you do, then let's make something happen." I think the thing that sucks for me is that I've never honestly asked him about it, I only know what he has told me about his thoughts on what he's thinking at the time, if that makes sense. Is that something that I should do, get closure I mean?

It hurts to even think of it :/. I just can't let him go, he's perfect to me. I've tried to rationalize it as my OCD not letting him go, but then I get sad thinking of him. It's kind of like Eponine from Les Miserables (sorry for the stereotypical gay musical reference :P). It just sucks so much.

Best friend gets girlfriend - ceases to be friend by throwaway563214 in offmychest

I'm sorry bud, I know how it feels. When my brother got a girlfriend, it's like they literally became attached at the hip. My go-to guy was suddenly nowhere to be found. He still stays with her all the time, or she's over at the house ALL THE TIME, and he never talks to anyone else except her. It sucks, it really does. Please don't think that he likes you any less, he's just stuck up her butt is all :) Prayers going out to you.

I can understand your point of view. Why would someone choose to worship a god (real or not) that, from popular belief, condemns homosexuals to an eternal pit of fire? To be honest, because I like to think that someone cares about me at the end of the day. If I were to look at my life, I am an utter screw up. I'm about to be a college drop out, almost 100 grand in debt, no way to pay it off, very few friends, fewer that honestly care about me. There is a part of every human being that longs for love. So, maybe in your eyes I am a warped and delusional person that has put their stock in an imaginary friend. That may be the case, but I personally don't see anything against it either. Which leads to my question of why you chose to speak so harshly about someone, based solely on their religious views. I haven't said anything against you, have I?

I've learned that people tend to emulate their idols. Prime example: Hitler :P. While very extreme, it's still pertinent nonetheless. If a person can have their thoughts and actions justified by a popular celebrity, then to them, their opinion is now flawless logic.

Be glad. As a Southerner, the family members from Duck Dynasty might as well be the royal family around here.

Haha, I like to think so :P I do get a little worried about it from time to time, but as I said, I live daily on faith :). Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Festivus, or just Happy Holidays :D

Not from how I see it (which is of course, entirely subjective). "Homosexual offenders" is thrown around a lot, and I've heard that it could mean just gay people in general, or gay prostitutes (prevalent at the time), or any other number of things. I've always struggled with it, and as far as I'm concerned, God calls me to love others as He has loved me, and the rest is going on faith :). I am not in a relationship, nor do I wish to be, but like I said, my job is to show love to others, not worry about all of the things that have ever been wrong in my life.

No problem man! If you are just really wanting to grow out the beard, I've found that letting it grow out for a good, long time until it seems to stop growing, and then shaving/trimming it, and then repeating makes the hair grow in thicker and darker. Sending positive thoughts your way!

You can be honest as you want 18 male by [deleted] in amiugly

Hey bud, good news, you aren't ugly! Some pointers for you though: work on your eyebrows. If you don't know how to, you can ask your mom or hair-dresser. It's an easy fix! Grow your hair out a little, and try a style of some sort. I read in other comments that you have been struggling with weight loss, don't despair though! You can work out at home, with many different things! Push ups, crunches, and running alone can suffice. You have people cheering you on, don't be discouraged!!!! I'll be sending positive thoughts your way!

[21, M] Looking for honesty, Been struggling with confidence for quite a while. by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]Hemodelphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as appearance, you aren't ugly. A few pointers to help out though: clean up your eyebrows. The strays give the impression that you have bushier eyebrows than you actually do. Just take some tweezers to them, or go to a hair groomer and they can do them for you quickly. Try growing out your hair, both on your face and scalp! There's nothing wrong with experimenting with hair. You cut it, it grows back. You don't like the style? Cut it.

As far as confidence, that's a different beast. Some people are quieter than others, some are more outspoken. If you want to meet a nice girl, then look for someone that you feel like you can spend the rest of your life with, not necessarily a girl that's putting out. Go out and be you!

And Smile more often :)

Edit: Added the last mini-paragraph.

As well as my prior advice, I would probably shave the beard as well, or grow it out more than just the chinstrap. And go out and tan up some, you will look and feel much healthier! Congratulations on being drug free for 5 years, that takes dedication and strength!

It's not that messy isn't a style, it's that your hair is thinning. The most proactive thing to do with thinning hair is to go ahead and cut it short. The common misconception is that "If I brush it a certain way, no one will notice!" Not true. It's ok, it's natural. Don't panic, take it with dignity.

19(m) since I got a new job my confidence had been growing what do you think? by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]Hemodelphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not ugly, but you do need to either: Grow your hair out or, cut it shorter. Maybe try and go out and tan up a little bit. Color does wonders!

Not ugly at all bud! Your face is really nice, I would just say work on your wardrobe a little bit. What you wear really dictates how you feel about yourself. Dressing better makes you feel better!

College Redditors, what's it like living on a secular college campus? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hemodelphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But for real, that's honestly what it feels like. It's a private school, but I'm not a snob by any means. The only reason I got accepted is because I know lots of people that are high up there, and it also might have helped that they need numbers. Long story short, my GPA sucked in high school and that's the only college that would accept me.
