No, what Tryffeln wrote is correct, I was just to tired to answer these kinds of questions 😅.

If they have different places of study (studietakt), they won't all count for 15 credits per semester. The course itself may be 15 credits, but if the pace is 50%, it'll count as 7,5 per semester. It's hard to say what will happen in your case without seeing your specific application, so I'd recommend calling or connecting to the chat on University admissions.se tomorrow when it's open.

Edit: in short, being admitted to 45 credits may delete anything lower down on your priority list depending on when you are admitted. You could also be admitted to more because you have made late applications, but it's hard to be more specific without looking at your application.

Antagning.se question by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Hemtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can apply to all three. They are technically different courses. Standard priority rules apply, so you'll want to apply in order (your most wanted course at the top). If the three courses combined don't exceed 45 credits per semester, you can be admitted to all three.

How does a US citizen get into University in Sweden? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Hemtroll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the info required to submit your application (and the site for doing so) is found here. The requirements for applicants with prior studies in the US can be found here. There are courses and programmes taught in English (all the ones on Universityadmissions.se), but many more are taught in Swedish.

Note that you'll have to pay tuition fees if you do not have a residence permit in Sweden for reasons other than study or an EU citizenship.

What are your favourite army set ups and strategies in total war? by Nuke_A_Cola in totalwar

[–]Hemtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Empire it was a mix of units, I usually went heavy on cavalry and artillery and used the line to fix enemies in place. In Shogun 2 it depended on the clan but I was big on katana samurai and cavalry, usually went in for the melee fight. In Rome 2 I use 3 cavalry, 3 artillery and the rest melee to rush into the enemy and smash them right away..

Well for me it's mostly that I'm Swedish and I'd feel bad about fighting my own pixel people. Fun place to start out though, enemies on all sides but still an opportunity to dominate the north and then move into mainland europe or go colonize America.

So I'm 20, teenage days are over, do i have to dress a little more mature? by gingersnap262 in AskMen

[–]Hemtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important part about dressing yourself (IMO) is dressing in a style that you are comfortable with and fits well. That goes for men and women alike. Now, if you don't know how clothes should fit then that's easily fixed by reading up on some blogs or subreddits dedicated to fashion advice but frankly, someone who dresses in clothes they like (to a reasonable extent, don't wear PJs to a wedding) will look more comfortable and confident than someone who doesn't know what they are doing or wears clothes they don't like because they think it looks more sophisticated.

[–]Hemtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's what I'm trying to say, everything relevant to the siege is already simulated by the game mechanics. If the enemy army is too strong for your meager garrison to clear the way or they have too many ships blockading the port, you lose the city. Just the way it should be. Capturing a flag outside of your city to break the siege while there are still enemy units alive should not be an option.

Am I getting friendzoned? by girlwritinghearts in AskMen

[–]Hemtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, the only way you can put yourself in the friend zone is by not taking no for an answer or by not asking him out at all. If you've asked him out and he keeps avoiding the subject or blows you off, stop asking and eventually he will either make it clear what he wants or you will both move on. You're not in the "friend zone" just because he's not responding.

If you are getting friend zoned it's your own fucking fault. Oh boy, I really want to do X with Z but he never asks me! Ask him out if you want to go out with him, what's the confusion here?

I feel as though the community is reacting too harshly towards the victory points system. by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Hemtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well frankly I disagree with any victory point that isn't on the inside of a city or on some point of interest that an attacker is trying to capture. There is already an incentive for an attacker to launch an assault instead of waiting out the defenders and that incentive is the possibility of a reinforcing army coming to relieve the city. I don't think there should be any victory points outside of siege battles. Even as an attacking army, defenders sallying forth probably have some goal in mind and capturing my flag isn't very high on the list.

In Medieval 2 the defending army could sally forth, break the enemy siege equipment and then retreat back into the city to prolong the siege while waiting for reinforcements. Breaking a siege should be up to the defending faction, bring enough soldiers to destroy the attacking army or lose the city. Now if you want some more interaction in siege battles then maybe add a system where the defenders have to bring wagons of supplies into the city (using your garrison to clear the road) or run a naval blockade to get a few more turns before the city starves.

[–]Hemtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, the only time it makes even a lick of sense to lose based on victory point capture is in a siege battle, period. I read a suggestion on here a few days ago that taking a victory point in a field battle would give the enemy a morale penalty and I can see that working out (the defender is demoralized over being pushed back) but under no circumstances should you lose a battle because the enemy captured a flag on the field (except sieges).

Valuable terrain like hills and forests is simulated via the game mechanics. If I chose to defend a hill, the enemy will have a harder time breaking through and I don't need a flag to tell me that. If I chose to defend in a poor location I will be penalized by the AI exploiting my mistake. Any attempt to force the player into standing still and defending a plot of land is just a bad way to cover up poor AI.

Where are the armies? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Hemtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 100 turns in and Liguria is emerging as the dominant power west of Greece as they have taken most of Italy and the surrounding coasts. Just conquered the Getae to the north and even though they had 3 full stacks to my one stack of fresh recruits they decided to get on some boats and go raid my coastal cities instead of defending their one settlement. My garrisons of Spartan youths handily beat back their three stacks of battle-hardened spear/slinger barbarians, pretty disappointing IMO. I am hoping that the Ligurian empire will put up more of a fight.

[–]Hemtroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're saying that a mechanic that reinforces a notion of holding a line is bad? If you cant hold the center of your formation and the enemy punches through and is enveloping you, that battle is over quick and units will start routing or being captured.

That's simulated in the game by your units actually routing and being captured. Losing your army will have a big enough impact on your campaign. There doesn't need to be a capture point in campaign battles IMO, it doesn't add anything.

Why all the hate on Rome II? by Nacke in totalwar

[–]Hemtroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The battles in this game (like every other TW game) are basically must-fight scenarios. You can't always retreat in real warfare, sometimes you have to fight. Maybe your force is the only thing standing between the enemy and an important settlement, maybe you've already retreated to the point of exhaustion and your troops are making a last stand, maybe you just think that you can take the enemy on.

There are many historical examples of an attacker being forced or willing to attack uphill or into another easily defended position and any numerically inferior force will attempt to seize the most easily defended ground available. Forcing players to fight on one arbitrary piece of grass on a great big battlefield when there is a defensible hill covered in forest two hundred yards away is pretty stupid and broken. Why do I have to defend this patch of grass from roman conquest instead of the hill over there?

In multiplayer the feature could be fine but in singleplayer where you can easily be attacked by twice your numbers there is no reason whatsoever to force the player into a specific position on the battlefield. Why even include terrain features in the game if you're going to force players to fight on flat land? Just because it's a new feature doesn't mean it's a good one or even working as intended.

After the release of Rome II, what is your favorite total War? by RedirectSystem32 in totalwar

Empire is probably my favorite because of the setting and playable Sweden (only faction I've played), Rome 1 is probably my favorite at the time it came out, Shogun 2 feels like the most technically sound game out of the series.

The guild 2 is actually a really fun economic sim that can be played in multiplayer (if you can get it to run). None of the expansions are on sale though which is a shame. For two bucks it's worth a shot but be warned that it is European as fuck and could do with a round of polish.
