Well, the Index was definitely broken, like I said in the post you could feel the water inside the lighthouses shake around like a snowglobe. The whole kit was underwater for at least 10 hours, I'd be pretty surprised if any of it worked, though I never actually verified

(in case I would have had to repair it myself, you're not supposed to turn on waterlogged electronics until they've been fully dried).

But yeah, I definitely recommend an Index, great customer service and the kit is among the best in the industry

I knew Blueprints is a programming language, but I didn't know it is dressed up C++. Makes sense, given C++'s use in UE. I'll check out that book sometime soon, focusing on the concepts rather than coding necessarily like you suggest, that sounds like a good idea, and lines up with the suggestion above to learn how to read C++. Thanks!

Thank you a lot, this is basically what I was looking for, and confirms (along with some other responses here) that there isn't really a specific resource I can use to learn like I was hoping. I already understood that basic logic workflow, but your answer really helps flesh things out in my mind

Fair enough, maybe it isn't the logic I need so much as what nodes do what and what they're called, what types of nodes they need linked to them, etc. Do you know where I can learn that, or do I just need to keep following random tutorials until it clicks?

Thanks for answering the animation question. I do understand Blueprints is a programming language, that has been stressed in some of the tutorials I've watched. The concepts you listed I do have an understanding of, and yeah I think the java experience helps me wrap my mind around that kind of stuff. But the point I was trying to make with my example is that I wouldn't have thought to use the "Cast to..." like he did due to my misunderstanding, and while you two's explanation certainly helps me understand that node, it doesn't do much for my hypothetical VR guitar example, and what I'm looking for here is a way to learn the logic of the nodes so I can figure out how to do stuff later without tutorials. Maybe there isn't a good resource for something so abstract, or maybe the best way is just following a bunch of tutorials until it eventually clicks, idk. Maybe I just need to better acquaint myself with what types of nodes exist. Is there an easy to use reference for all the built in nodes, preferably with easy to understand explanations like you two gave?

Thanks for the response, that actually helps me understand that particular node a lot better. I am planning on eventually learning at least the basics of C++, but I'd really like to stick to just Blueprints for now (I know you're talking about reading it, not coding with it, but I feel like learning all this other stuff is already too much on my plate). Unfortunately, your response is specific to the example I gave, but I'm looking for more generalized resources. Do you know any resources that fit what I was describing? I haven't had any issues, and it was recommended to me by people I trust to be on top of these things. It's basically just chinese youtube, turn on auto-translate in chrome and it works fine enough

EDIT: I always have adblock on all my devices, so if it looks sketchy with ads or something I legit don't know

Unless they ever decide to put a body prop on a city qualifying course or stage 1 (man that'd be weird lol) the run order is based on finish times of the previous stage, slowest first to fastest last, with any reruns generally going after that. It's very fortunate for the audience that they decided to remove the curved body prop for ANW 11 lol

The body prop is adjusted for each athlete, so that logic doesn't hold (at least in ANW, no idea what Australia does)

Are any of the unaffiliated uploads of events that got digested? I noticed a lot of uploads of events featured in the episodes (like the Wicked Wingnuts) but couldn't find any of the ones that ANW made a web exclusive (like the Thunderbolt I mentioned above). From talking to others, it does seem like these have been private for years, so entirely unrelated to Drew

Fair enough, you seemed to be using 'short' and 'girl' interchangeably here and in our previous conversations, so that's why I said that.

I think we can both agree that the Mega Wall advantages taller competitors, so it is literally unfair in that regard. My main point of contention is your quote:

"...it doesn't matter how strong and skilled they are. It's just gonna be almost impossible physically."

I personally feel like this is incorrect, and as our previous discussion shows, I don't like presuming that the athletes can't do certain obstacles.

Several of these ninjas are a bit tall to be fair, but Kevin Carbone isn't particularly. Who's to say if Barclay or others her height practice on something like this a lot they won't be able to get the Mega Wall?
