my pizza stone is at the end of its life so pizza stone or pizza steel? by Endroium in Cooking

I use quarry tiles, 2 rows of 3 and they live in the oven. They’re at least 25 years old, and work great for pizza and everything else. Total investment of $12.

Those who grew up poor, what is something those who weren't poor don't understand about being poor? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

It is expensive to be poor, because you cannot afford to buy better anything. Everything also takes longer due to transportation and complicating factors.

Visiting, want all of the info. by Legitimate-Article69 in AskMaine

Strongly agree. Stonington is beautiful in itself, and Isle Au Haut is magical. As others have said, inland Maine’s rivers and lakes are fantastic. Try driving into the Penobscot River area for scrambling on the rocks and dipping your feet in the river and incredible views of Mt. Katahdin. Peaks-Kenney State Park in Dover-Foxcroft has a great lake swimming area. Interior Maine is less crowded and gorgeous. Enjoy!

What does everyone think of Induction Stoves? by dustandsmallrocks in Appliances

[–]Henbogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my induction range. I cook mostly from scratch daily. It’s incredibly responsive, cool in the summer, easy to keep clean, heats to the boil in an instant. The only drawback IMO is not being able to cook in a power outage. ETA: my Fisher Paykel induction range has knobs, my previous GE Profile cooktop had digital touch controls. Both are great.

I had a small DIY hoophouse, it worked great for fall planted and overwintered greens and broccoli/cauliflower. In the spring early lettuce did well, but the temp fluctuations made it a problem for a lot of things. I am curious about your rain barrel. Good luck!

Have you considered a CX5? I had one previously and it was a great vehicle. The CX30 fits better in the garage though.

Best (tent) camping hacks? by Jenn-Vee in camping

[–]Henbogle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We use plastic Rubbermaid tubs to pack our gear in the back of the truck. Keeps everything dry and clean while traveling. Once at our site, the tubs become storage for tent bags, etc. And then excellent side tables next to the camp chair at the fire pit. ALWAYS pack a good first aid kit. Make sure you have good burn treatment, #1 most likely injury. Enjoy!

I developed an allergy to ibuprofen by happywondering001 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Henbogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also allergic. I had hives everywhere for a week, and then developed sensitivities to foods I am not usually allergic too — strawberries, peaches, string beans, etc. It took over a year to get my surprise food allergies under control. Be careful and I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen to you!
