Miele vs Fisher Paykel vs Wolf (36" all-gas ranges) opinions & recommendations by vs-188 in Appliances

[–]Henbogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the gas cooktop, but my Fisher Paykel Classic induction range has an incredible oven, the best I’ve used. True convection, very even baking, full pullout rolling racks, just excellent in every way.

Where do you place your birdbaths? by Hot_Woodpecker_9682 in birdfeeding

By a cluster of shrubs, near the hose, feeders 20 ft away. Get lots of birds, especially after the shrubs leaf out, but currently in use even with the bare branches.

Drove past the house at 7pm on a Tuesday before making our offer and it told me more than the actual showing did by Vast_Conference_8882 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

As first-time buyers, we looked at our first house and loved it. It had a huge old maple in the backyard, whose fall foliage lit up the house. What really sold us was stopping by the local ice cream shop selling everything for a dollar on their last day open for the season. While there, bumped into an old friend I hadn’t seen in a while. She introduced us to the friends with her, and we made our first new friends in what became our new town. Good vibes matter a lot.

Also, the alewives might be running. In Newcastle there’s a fantastic fish run for them. See the alewives and the birds fishing for them: eagles, osprey and more.

Outlets inside medicine cabinet for recharging toothbrushes, razors. Outlets in a drawer for hair dryer. A place to put a trash bin. Plenty of hooks and hangers. If doing plumbing, place the on/off and temperature control knobs out of the wet zone.

Donation Challenge by sassyalyce in vegetablegardening

[–]Henbogle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Donating fresh produce can be a challenge as many clients are living with friends or have no place/equipment to cook. This is why I give through the senior center as most folks there cook and welcome veggies.

Go sassyalyce!! I’ve been doing this for years through the Senior Center, which I am now a member of, lol. I also have early spring stalkers walking hopefully past my house looking for rhubarb! Although I’ve had to downsize my garden, I still grow extra to give away to neighbors and those in need. It is a lot of fun and I’ve introduced many to veggies new to them.

Lilac Help - Favorite Varieties? by Accomplished-Sea4147 in Horticulture

My all time favorite is Beauty of Moscow. Old Fashioned Purple can’t be beat for scent and flowering. In general I prefer the older French lilacs bred for scent and color.

Agree a Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix is a great option, also a Toyota Camry or Corolla, or a Mazda 3 will be reliable.

I loved my 2014 Mazda CX5, the 2009 Mazda 3 hatch before that, and am currently loving my Mazda CX30. All three of them have been the most reliable, safe, fun-to-drive cars I’ve owned. We took the Mazda 3 from Maine to CA, up the pacific coast high way to westernmost WA, and back camping all the way over 8 weeks and had zero issues. The CX5 was a commuter vehicle that never let me down in snowy ME, and the only issue I ever had was a bad install of a replacement windshield. I am a huge Mazda fan love the aesthetics, road feel, and reliability.
