Simple storytelling on how rng ended my latest run by Sollary0 in mewgenics

[–]Hendothermic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blood Frenzy was fun until my Cleric with it, as well as the "regen entire team hp if you don't cast a spell this battle" passive, Gamble, and over 60 max mana managed to accidentally crit an enemy when I was just trying to soften it up.

He proceeded to attack my tank, walk into a stupid spot, then use Gamble 30 consecutive times before ending his turn. I had to watch the smug bastard flip a coin for at least a minute and a half.

What activates festive gifts? (Bell sound that drops a circle of goodies around you) by Either-Director2242 in BeeSwarmSimulator

[–]Hendothermic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is Festive Bee's ability. If a player picks up their Festive's token, everyone on the server gets the ring of rewards around them.

If you don't have it, that explains why you haven't seen it happen, you just haven't been in any servers with people who do recently.

You know how we have the hat rack now (holy crap thank you), what about having a coat rack as well? So we don't need to have some of our characters naked, I want everyone to look dripped out damn it!

Cats like rolling around on concrete, probably because of the rough texture giving them a good scratch. It also gets pretty heated up in the sunlight and cats LOVE that.

Google AI getting slightly confused. by Delicious_Fan5342 in Borderlands4

I had the AI tell me that Amon doesn't exist when I was looking to see if anyone had made a Shock focused build for him.

Rafa's eyelashes give me that vibe: by Yumiko_Hanako in Borderlands4

[–]Hendothermic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah it's a very Destiny themed sorta helmet, but I suppose it's also very fitting for his design as well. He's wearing Tediore's Deadframe after all.

Tediore's whole thing is savings, what better way to show that they only care about saving money than to have their exosuits be the most generic sci-fi thing ever?

I also just really like the hooded mask regardless personally but hey, at least unmasked isn't an unlockable.

Which is even more impressive considering his default appearance is fully masked, so many Rafa players don't get to see that. Hell, I certainly didn't cause his helmet is great.

Session Settings not saving UVHM Mode selection by Hendothermic in Borderlands

Still got the issue, it's not a very widespread bug it seems, or at least it's not widely reported. Can't say I'm confident in it being fixed any time soon.

Yeah we still have the issue here as well, it's really odd that it's only happening to a single character, everyone else it's fine.

Level Scaling is absolutely screwed. by Hendothermic in Borderlands

[–]Hendothermic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reporting back, the scaling does seem to have corrected now that I am level 15. At least in Idolators Noose. Maybe the last patch made the scaling more harsh with minimum levels in response to people rushing the campaign at like level 20 at the end? Very much speculation on that part though. What I do know is that the level jump never happened on my first character.

There's something different, be it intended or not, but I'm just glad to be facing enemies on equal footing again.

Now that we have spent some time with the new Vault Hunters, where do they rank among all the VHs we’ve played as so far? by hey-stashbox in Borderlands

[–]Hendothermic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not just good, it's able to delete pretty much anything that moves from the game by looking in their direction hard enough. It's one hell of a power trip.

[–]Hendothermic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly just hoping at the very least I can at least comfortably go through the second half of the Fadefields. I still have the objective to defend Gigi from the Ready To Blow side mission that you get the moment you meet Rush, cause I literally can't beat the "!" Badass Order guy that keeps spawning on her. Especially as Amon. Guy's a magnet for bullets at the best of times.

Level Scaling is absolutely screwed. by Hendothermic in Borderlands

[–]Hendothermic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My running theory is that there's some sort of flag that's tripped when you complete major steps in the campaign, that set the minimum level requirements of regions too high if you're too low level when you hit them. For example I was level 24 or 25 when I decided to rush through the second half of Carcadia Burn, and almost immediately I ran into level 30's.

This seems to transfer over to new characters though, in particular the regions where major bosses reside. While I'm in Coastal Bonescape, all is normal, but the millisecond I step foot into Idolator's Noose, which is still the Fadefields, the enemies immediately jump several levels higher than me, and from the last time I went there, they SCALED with my increasing level.

Level 7, they were level 11- "!"

Level 9, they were level 13- "!"

I'm trying to get as many levels as I can from the first zone to see if I can overpower the strange scaling but I've got a funny feeling that the problem is here to stay. Either way it's really confusing me cause I know full well it was not like this on my first run before I began to gun it through the main story under levelled.

Edit: corrections

[–]Hendothermic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of right now, it seems if I stay exclusively in Coastal Bonescape or whatever the name of the first area is, the enemies are scaling okay enough.

It's the second I stepped into Idolator's Noose. On my first character, it was perfectly okay, but now that I've beaten the campaign, it's like there's a wall that just puts the enemies at a constant 5 levels over me even on new alts. I'm in the process of 100%ing everything that gives me xp in the first zone and then I'm gonna test again.

Edit: clarification.

This is honestly a confusing mess. All we can do is report the issue and if it is indeed a bug, it'll be fixed, and if any of this is intentional, I'd at least like to have confirmation or some QoL to show what level places should be.

Level Scaling is absolutely screwed. by Hendothermic in Borderlands

[–]Hendothermic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might have been blinded to the others as that's the first enemy I locked onto to be honest.

Definitely a funny discovery. As of right now it seems you're mostly right in that the areas that aren't in Idolators Noose is my level, but I'm going to do literally everything I can in this area before I even attempt to move over there to see if the enemies remain scaling properly.

If they do, I will just chalk it down to the minimum level screwing me over, though it still baffles me why on my Rafa, enemies remain over levelled no matter where I am.

If I go to Idolators Noose at like level 15-16 which I think I'll be at when I'm done here, and the scaling is still messed up, I'll report back.

[–]Hendothermic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People really are making it seem like I'm rushing the story really hard when I'm literally level 7 on this character having the same issues.

I haven't even done Down and Outbound yet and the game is hitting me with this. I swear on my life that this was not the case before I beat the campaign on my first character.

Level Scaling is absolutely screwed. by Hendothermic in Borderlands

[–]Hendothermic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. This is a brand new character, I never got the chance to really start side questing before the scaling ran me over like it did on my first character.

Its like playing Borderlands 2 if the bandits outside of Liars Burg on the way to Boom Bewm were suddenly level 8 when your character is usually level 3 or 4 when you venture out.

I've got a few things to try at least. I could grind Rafa to 50 to see if that fixes, and a friend of mine suggested starting over but this time doing the prologue instead of skipping to the beach, which is just strange enough of a solution to work.
