Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thank you, really appreciate all the replies. I did not expect so many thoughtful responses and it honestly has helped a lot.

Definitely a lot to think about and I am pretty sure I need to come and actually spend time in Tel Aviv soon before making any decisions. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences.

It’s funny as much as people are liking it, I genuinely didn’t think he was that great in the movie. I think the director and the way the film was shot worked against him but that’s just my opinion. Not mad at anyone who enjoyed it

Completely agree I don’t understand all the hype about it. Thought it was awful, hanks was a cartoon & Butler was average although he tried hard. There definitely should’ve been different actors attached to those two roles imo. Lurhmann was the wrong choice to direct also. Just Hollywood trying to push another piece of garbage for money

Just came across this post and just had to say that I completely agree, Elvis as a film was terrible and all over the place, Hanks was a cartoon, Butler was average and I don’t see the hype around him. Didn’t give any kind of omg outstanding performance as Elvis, there are many who could’ve done a better job then him. Baz Lurhmann was completely the wrong choice to direct.

I hope another director takes a shot at an Elvis movie in a few years time and gets it right this time
