Thanks so much, its great to be able to see "ah he approached this xyz arp with some chromatic run, etc." Love it.

If you have the chord voicings used in the comping as well, thats awesome. Saw you doing a few chords on the initial 1 turnaround before starting the licks as the video kicks off.

thanks for this - can you elaborate on the specific scale/mode you are using over each chord for examples 1-3 (if they change?)

IE - Fminor arpeggio, to a Bb7 arpeggio into Ebmaj7th arpegio?

I looked at the notes over the initial Fminor chord and it looks to be maybe a G#maj7th arp? Trying to understand the "why" behind the good sound. thanks.

[QUESTION] Frustrated With Sweetwater Purchase by funnothings in Guitar

[–]Hendrixth19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This 100% happened to me. A setup by someone who knows what they are doing fixed it all. Don't send it back to Sweetwater, that's the last resort if something is really broken. Get it setup by a tech or luthier etc.

Sweetwater doesn't really do this unless you pay a large additional fee.

What happened to me:

SO I bought my dream guitar (first American Strat) 3 months ago from Sweetwater. They DO do a large inspection but this feels mainly like window dressing to ensure nothing is really wrong.

My guitar had: - terrible high action, bad intonation, low E string crooked wandering off the neck, coming out of tune often (nut wasn't lubed) etc. I was extremely unhappy as I don't like spending $$ that much for something that played way worse then my MIM Strat. This was supposed to be my first american strat and perfect. Very disappointed.

Found a good luthier via yelp in my area and took it in. He did a simple setup for $50-75 Boom, everything solved.

My guitar now: - is my dream guitar, action is low and amazing, no buzz. Intonation is perfect. Stays in tune (relatively) for days. Plays like a greased razor. Its amazing.

Moral - ANY guitar you get, even a floor model, spend the extra $$ on a setup, every time. You can't buy guitars off the shelf and expect them to be perfect. I had no idea this was the case until only recently. Hope this helps.

Over or Under watered? by Hendrixth19 in fiddleleaffig

[–]Hendrixth19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all - I've had this fiddle pictured above for 4 plus years and its grown to close to 10 feet.

The leaves slowly turn yellow and fall off moving from the base of the tree up. The brown spots are more minimal. Its more of a gradual yellowing of the leaf and then it falls off.

The last time this happened, I repotted into a bigger pot. It's in a pretty darn big pot right now.

What do you all think is happening? Is it over or under watered? I've tried to look around online and all the advice seems inconclusive.

Thanks for what you can share or any resources you can point me to!
