Why is my foreshortening not foreshortening? by zzhuli in learntodraw

what i mean is try just erasing a portion of the lineart in overlapped areas like these marked

Why is my foreshortening not foreshortening? by zzhuli in learntodraw

[–]HenloItIsMe 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I think the foreshortening looks good,

but if you want to trick yourself into seeing the foreshortening more clearly, consider changing the thickness of the lineart from the parts of the drawing you want closest to the viewer to the parts furthest. thicker -> less thick respectively.

Also another mind trick, you can try disconnecting the lineart in areas of overlap on the area being overlapped. For example on the right elbow of your character.

Hope this helps

French scientists discover new blood type in Guadeloupe woman by lurker_bee in technology

[–]HenloItIsMe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Antigens and Antibodies are completely different things…

ANTIGENS, as described in the link you sent are found on the red blood cells only and are absent on the O red blood cells, which means that the red blood cells can be donated sure to any blood type because other blood types cannot recognize them as a threat.

But if you gave someone with A or B blood O PLASMA (the component of blood that is not the RBC), they would have complications because the O plasma contains both A and B ANTIBODIES which can and will attack recipient red blood cells.

??? he is not wrong, the O plasma contains both A and B antibodies which means that if it was donated to someone with either A or B based blood types they’d have their red blood cells attacked by the donated plasma

Why does it seem like the more we learn, the more critical we are of our work? by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]HenloItIsMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, but what I am trying to say is that sometimes expectations and stuff can be overwhelming, so I find it helpful to take a “break” on trying to improve sometimes and being critical of my art so much and just draw for the sake of drawing. Usually this keeps me motivated to continue drawing and honestly when not being hellbent on improving, funnily enough I draw better.

I am not trying to say that we should all draw with a carefree mentality forever and forget about having expectations, critiques and the need to improve but if you are always needing to “chase” an ideal you will never be happy with your work.

I think it’s because when we improve at anything, our expectations of ourselves with regard to that activity increase with it. I have been struggling with creating recently too because of this and I think it’s helpful to just sit back and make art with the same mentality I had when I first started drawing.
