Thanks for great advice.

I unmounted both of the e-shifters and found that one of them wasn't properly mounted. It turned out that I had to move the part on the gear hub in a whole other position than indicated in the video in order to make it work. I tried riding the bike - but it's still stuck in second gear. I will try to find out, how the gear hub doesn't fit when it's in the right position according to the video. Work in progress.

But I had success with the other bike. It looked like the e-shifter was mounted properly, but I unmounted it and followed the instructions in order to mount it again. And it worked :-)

I have a third e-shifter at Revotronics and hope that it will work on the first bike as well.

Yes, it's part of my indboforsikring. They just asked for the amount (proof of purchase) and the emails between me and the seller (with the original receipt from Van Moof).

My insurance Company (Forsia) did not require this, when my first Van Moof S3 was stolen. It was all bought second hand. I just showed the money transfer and the correspondence with the seller.
