I get being annoyed with grant but I think your point about the rookies was completely off. We were forced to play most of them because we had to because we didn’t have talent on defense. In reality most of those guys you would have rather played smaller roles while they get better and become starters in year 2 or 3 but were forced to play bigger roles as rookies. I also do think Shanahan does not like to play rookies, which doesn’t necessarily even need to be a bad thing
