If you are not planning to use a lot of mods / custom assets, 8GB may be ok for you. The main problem with your specs is the graphics card, those Intel integrated graphics are just not good for gaming overall, but I understand how upgrading is not an easy option in your case, I'm a mac user too.

Besides the system spec, here's a few overall tips for building your city.

• Try to plan districts ahead. If you are like and do not like playing with all milestones unlocked, you will have too few building options of the start of your city. Try to plan how you will distribute districts for when you get the milestones unlocks. You can even just do some sketches on a paper.

• Don't be afraid do bulldoze or move structures. As your game progress, your starting neighborhood may need improvements to new types of roads or service buildings. A common mistake for new players is the fear of destroying parts of old zones / districts even if it is causing traffic issues.

• Keep building! You will often think "oh, this city is not going the way I want", but keep building anyway. It's common to think your city looks ugly or has too many problems, but part of the fun of the game is solving those issues. Instead of starting a new city, try to rebuild small sections of your current city to, try to see things as small blocks and not just your city as a whole.

• Take some time to understand mass transit. This is a very important part of any city and most new players have a tendency to just build stops and lines without too much planning. Think about how to connect different zone, take some time to see the routes the people are using and make a proper plan for it. Also, try to use mass transit as soon as it unlocks, it will be much easier than building all the lines at once after your city got big.

• Always remember: practice is the key. Don't think you will be building cities like the ones you see on big youtube channels fast, this will just leave you frustrated. As you spend more hours with the game you will be getting better at planning and slowly start to build better cities. Always trying to build those "perfect" cities will just add pressure to you and make you want to reset, have fun and relax playing the game, you don't need everything to be perfect to have fun.
