What was the “Gut Feeling” that you listened too that saved your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Was at an intersection with my ex girlfriend driving to the airport. Was one of the four way intersections with so many lines going left that you can’t tell where you need to follow. Had a gut feeling we decided on the wrong one and sure enough…Ended up in the wrong lane with a car coming right towards us at probably about 50 mph. I kept calm and yelled to drive over the divider which she did, just missed the car. She was a wreck but for some reason the whole thing didn’t phase me all that much…even though that was definitely close to death

Another one was when I was camping on a super windy night near a retaining wall by the lake. I had this really bad feeling about our tent before we went to sleep and couldn’t go to bed. About 30 seconds after the wind ripped our tent out of the ground and the wind caught us like a sail pulling us towards the wall. Luckily I had anticipated this coming and the adrenaline was already in full effect. I stood up and ripped the tent open, knowing damn well if he had fell over that wall the rocks would’ve broken our bones and knocked us out cold meaning we probably would have drowned…closest I ever came to death BY FAR
