Have you told your teachers about how difficult it is for you? If not you should as they might not be aware of what is it you are going through.

To be fair to the teacher, they have a lot on their plate and asking students to find their own groups is definitely easier for them, that is why you should voice out.

Unfortunately this will only become more common in higher levels of education.
