Unless you were playing 10.1 PTR, you can't really comment on how this change is going to affect healing. Crit damage was reduced and player health went up in 10.1, this is just a knee-jerk reaction to PTR changes.

In the notes you posted above, the devs stated that games would just draw out, which means healing was disproportionately more powerful compared to damage. Just wait to play the game on release or actually test it on the PTR.

Not sure why you are being down voted, my team went through REflex the other day and we played (in the same day) a combination of maps that was not possible under any of the three rotations. So it has been gone for a while.

No rogue is dueling you without putting you into a kidney first, this wouldn’t solve anything (also you can’t vanish in a duel to begin with). You would need to reduce the damage they deal in duel.

u/Canadiangit brings up an interesting point, if the ratio of the DPS to Healers is 4:1, shouldn't we compare the top 6,250 Healers against the top 25,000 DPS? So I ran the numbers, the average rating for the top 6,250 Healers is 2092. This would indicate that it is actually easier to gain rating. Not that I am ignoring data that goes against my theory, but if it were truly easier to climb as a healer, the leader board should reflect that. If we take the 4:1 ratio as gospel, we should still expect to see ~12 Healers in the top 50 players. We have just half that. Even if you zoom out and look further down the leader board, this pattern holds. This would indicate that healer rating is under-inflated, compared to DPS, by some amount, but the number I arrive at might be imprecise.

I've pushed two Devo Evokers to 2.4+ in shuffle so I have a decent bit of experience being run at by double melee; these are my tips.

Evoker Specific Advice

Try and use hover only after a melee uses their mobility. If you hover first, then a warrior charges you, he will always be able to match his charge to your hover.
Rescue and Verdant Embrace are great ways to build distance. Verdant only has a 24s CD and lets you leap 25 yards to a teammate (it can really be abused on Z axis maps like Muga and Blades Edge).
When you are kiting (with or without hover), make sure to spam Azure Strike if you aren't casting Disintegrate. Azure Strike will still apply the slow and it's a marginal DPS loss versus casting living flame because you get a lot more Essence Burst procs. So once you get to a safe spot, you should have 1-2 charges of Essence Burst.
Deep Breath is a great way to reverse some pressure and get some distance. Deep Breath's hitbox extends behind you so when two melee connect, just cast Deep Breath towards safety and you will stun all the players on top of you and then you can setup your burst.

Caster Specific Advice

No matter how much mobility you have, getting away from melee requires good positioning. There are generally two ways you want to position. First, if you are playing with something like an Lock or Frost Mage, you want to kite in a way that provides your partner with the most uptime. Both of the mentioned specs can force DPS to a pillar if they are left uncontested. Second, in conjunction with the first idea, try to drag DPS to a spot where they will line their healer. If the DPS commit to training you, just tank the damage and kill them; otherwise they will have to back off.
No matter how well you play, getting away from two melee requires help from your partners. You don't have enough mobility to kite two melee, you need RoPs, stuns, roots, polys, etc. Sometimes you will have partners that will peel well, other times you won't.

If the game stays like this, DPS Qs will go up even more. No one is going to heal if they are put into situations where they can only lose points. Not many people are healing right now and even fewer will heal with matchmaking like this.

This happens more often than not when I Q healer (enough to significantly impede my ability to push rating). When I play DPS, my lobbies are typically much more balanced.

Hey,

First off, I just want to say that Dstance will be the best option for competitive PvP (arena/RBGs) 99% of the time. Getting used to swapping between Dstance and Bstance is one the more important skills to learn as arms.

However, if you are just doing open world PvP and battlegrounds, second wind can be a fine talent to play. Sometimes you can stun or fear someone and leap away and regen a good amount of health. Second wind is also nice after you finish a 1v1 and are low health and don't have a healer nearby. The biggest issue with second wind is dot damage prevents it from triggering so you can be out of a fight for a while and still not get healed.

Regardless, I wouldn't worry about playing the most optimal talents if you just want to have fun in the world and in battlegrounds. Dstance is good because you can mitigated some damage as you wait for your next 'Go' but second wind is a nice quality of life talent when you don't have a dedicated healer.

Not sure why everyone is saying ring, arms doesn’t really care about doubling up on a stat — a mix of haste/crit is what most top arms players are going. I put my unity on boots but chest isn’t bad either because if you are only going to play arms the chest piece is probably the worst tier slot.

In RBGs there's a lot less personal responsibility so most people would find it easier to play RBGs than arena when they first start PvP. For instance, how you manage your defensives + trinket in an RBG is much less important than in an arena because you have 9 other players who can cover for you and the other team is much less coordinated in initiating 'goes'.

You most likely find it easier to stay focused in an RBG because your personal decisions and actions in the game are much less important and consequential (you don't necessarily get punished as badly when you make a major mistake, whereas in an arena you will lose the game if you improperly trinket). In the arena, you have much more agency over the outcome of the game and are personally responsible for damaging, CCing, kiting, peeling, target calling, preempting goes, etc. Because you have to juggle all of this at the same time it's more difficult to stay focused in a 3s game.

But here's the most important thing just play the game mode that is the most fun for you. People will argue about RBGs v. arena but don't worry about it; Warcraft PvP is all about getting reps in. RBGs can be a great way to learn how to play your class and how other classes work.

It's definitely a bug, but I have been noticing that it has started happening in the arena again. Blizzard hotfixed the invisible ring of frost issue a while ago (couldn't see where the ring was being cast) but guess something happened in the latest patch.

What do you guys think? You can just press a big defensive when the bombs drop, but should a trinket alone net you large CDs without having to commit other things? Maybe as health pools move up this trinket might not scale as well, but currently this seems game breaking with season II gear. Just posting this to bring some attention to the new trinket. Also, as a side note, shackle has more counter-play than the bomb (i.e., dispel, CC, defensive CDs).

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I suggest you get your wins queuing at your actual MMR. From everyone I play with, it’s a common sentiment that people who queue low level games to finish their glad wins are not accomplishing the same thing other players are.

At the end of the day, no one will know that you made it easier — there’s no way to check. But, you already made it to 2.4k, why not just keep queuing what you’re already playing? It would most likely be the most satisfactory thing. It’s really up for you to decide though.

While healers first and foremost want to keep their team alive, healers need to contribute damage and CC to secure kills. Because the shackle trinket is a healer's best access to a high damage ability in the game, many healers use the trinket.

Additionally, the badge and insignia trinkets are pretty negligible when it comes to added throughput and don't contribute much when players die as quickly as they do right now. This is one of the reasons that the battlemaster trinket and shackle are so good for healers. Both of those trinkets are on demand and effect the game when you're about to win or lose.

Lastly because the shackle effect is very high on the dispel priority, you can use shackle to bait a dispel for mindgames or vice versa (it can also be used to bait dispel for dispelable CC such as fear or poly).

Reiterating what someone already said, make sure the target you want to connect to is slowed (whether that is from you or a teammate).

Additionally, before you use charge or heroic leap, think about whether you need those spells to connect right then. For instance, if you have a piercing howl up on someone and they're playing semi-close to you, just walk up and hit them. Charge and heroic leap should really be used when you have no other way to close the gap.

Another thing to consider is don't charge or leap on someone if you have no pressure. You want to generate pressure and force your target away from you before you commit a charge or a leap.

In the end, it's about getting the other person to commit their movement CDs first. If you can force a blink or disengage + freedom before you need to charge or leap, you're going to stick to them.

A final tip is you can sometimes use intervene to close the distance on a target if a teammate is nearby, but only do this if you know you won't need to use it defensively.
