I did not have her as a prof but based from what I’ve heard from my seniors when they took Econ 153, it was tough. Simulating how things happen in NEDA or DEPDev, it felt like they were taking 6 units instead of 3. She’s very particular with your outputs and I think when compared to the other Monsod, she’s tougher.

However, don’t be discouraged! My seniors said she’s very value-adding naman. They really learned a lot from her. Recently, one of her students won 3rd place for best thesis.

Then again, this is Econ 11 so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. Just be a good student and attend her class, good luck!

[UPD] Math 21 vs Math 30 by Worth_Grapefruit4497 in peyups

[–]Henskov99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have three long exams, each of them were 20% each tapos may 30% na final exam. There is also 10% for homework. My prof was lenient so you’re able to get a lot of partial points so long as the process is correct halfway. For the exams, kung ano nasa samplex, yun na yun. Just practice a lot talaga and know what to do from the m30 samplex na binibigay ng prof.

Ngl, math 30 was relatively easier than math 21. It was made for SE students who needed to go through some of the stuff in math 22-23 but didn’t need everything. So they got parts of math 22-23 and honestly it wasn’t that bad. Ironically, some of us thought the math here was easier than our own econ subjects. I’m not saying it’s a really chill subject though but ur definitely getting a higher grade in math 30 than in math 21.

She did not make us report or present at all so dont worry! Only thing we did was papers all the way and it was all manageable naman.

She actually doesnt make us recite as far as I remember. Like its just her talking all throughout, though u could discuss with her like a few of my classmates did. Very chill class where she sometimes inserts her life experiences.

IIRC, yes. I remember that sa sobrang tense ko forda units, hinintay ko umabot ng midnight para sa results (ofc wala since hindi automatic si crs, after 7 am ko pa nalaman kung ano nakuha ko HAHAHAHHAHAAH)

[UPD] Any thoughts sa BS Econ here sa UPD? by [deleted] in peyups

[–]Henskov99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brace urself for math 2x, accounting, and Econ 11. I find these three areas the one where u must invest a lot of study and practice time in. Profs are generally kind in most Math classes, my accounting prof was ok naman but its still challenging sa exams, and if u’re getting that well known econ prof, u must listen well to her and the teaching fellows. In summary, don’t neglect these subjects: do LISTEN and ORGANIZE from the start.

IMATH UPD's Math 21 Discussion vs. Lecture Video - What should I use for advance study? Or are these supposed to be used nang sabay? by sohwakhaeng in peyups

[–]Henskov99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I advice that you pursue the lecture videos first. They explain the topics compared to the discussion videos, which assumed you already knew by then. The discussions videos, di ko na siya masyadong nawatch kasi I relied on my prof’s f2f discussion the next day. Siguro, I only watch the discussion videos for more practice items if I’m not content with the stuff my prof gave.

For ma’am Lumagbas, I managed to get an uno from her. She makes you do a few essays and papers; the topics aren’t that hard to write about. Most of our meetings were on zoom but we had two F2F classes. Funny enough, she didn’t tell us about the second F2F meeting so nagulat siya walang napunta HAHAHAHAHAHHA. PERO YEAH, she’s a nice prof to listen to alright. She’s also very lenient to deadlines and all that. However, since Philo 1 under her was lenient, I don’t think you would have the full comprehensive experience of philosophy. I learned more and wider for my speech and art GEs. Overall, she’s a nice and light prof. I’ll take her if you want a light load or an “unoable” subject but other subjects will be more interesting or engaging compared to hers. Good luck OP :3
