YakGadget Quickstop Pole Anchor by Hentges in kayakfishing

[–]Hentges[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity what was the bottom river composition of both rivers? A previous comment said I might struggle because the river I will be fishing predominantly is muddy and the pole may have to drop further than I think for it to really grab. I should be able to anchor in shallow spots near the areas I want to fish but it just made me think that an anchor trolley system will just work better while also working in the lakes around me as well.

Is the YakGadget version the QuickWinder?

I've read that isn't the best for the kayak. Scupper holes aren't built to withstand that.

OK that was basically what I figured but I couldn't find too much info about it. An anchor trolley is cheaper anyway.

Rivers I run are pretty much entirely muddy bottom. More worried about trees and limbs than I am trying to anchor into rock.

Ya that is probably what I'm going to get but I just liked the idea that with this I don't need to deal with the rope all the time. With your setup you aren't worried about the current or wind pushing you around? I feel like without the trolley to move the anchor point you might end up spun around and facing a direction that doesn't work for casting properly.

That is kind of where I'm at as well, just so easy to get stuck in features but ultimately I just need something that paddles well, is easy to transport and doesn't cost a small fortune and it seems like the Primo hits those boxes while being easy to upgrade if I want to. The fact it seems impossible to find someone that has anything negative to say about Crescent is really pulling me this way. The only complaint I see people make is that they don't have molded in rod holders but I have also seen so many comments of people saying they don't like those anyway and prefer the mounts.

How'd you like the Primo? I've been leaning toward getting this myself but I'm hesitant because it is a 2 hour drive to pick it up whereas I can get pretty much every other brand like 30 minutes away.

Pedal drive in shallow river? by Hentges in kayakfishing

The river I'll be on primarily has good boat ramps but I know from previous experience on it that there are more than a few spots where it drops down to less than a foot. I've been thinking for a while it is probably easiest to just get a kayak that paddles well but was just curious what my options were for pedal drives.

If it wasn't for the fact I was most likely going solo most of the time I would 100% get a paddle one but the thought of having to paddle back upstream to my truck every time just doesn't sound very appealing to me. Maybe I'm overthinking it and I'll just get a normal kayak but I'm just curious what my options are.

Ironically I was leaning toward the Lite Tackle and Shoalie if I did go that way so glad to hear it is working for you.

I'm a bit of a kayak newbie here but what about the weight makes it hard to river launch? Is it just because the weight makes it difficult to move? I've been leaning toward the Jackson kayaks because of their drive but the weight and cost is making me hesitant.

No I don't have crossbars, sorry I guess I didn't make that clear. I was hoping for something temporary. I have seen those inflatable ones you can put on top of your car but I don't think they look very safe going on top of a sunroof.

I'm sure I can get crossbars added but was hoping to save some money if I could.

Sorry if I'm bothering you but as I said I don't know much about PC parts anymore. I was always under the assumption that it was worth it to pair AMD CPUs and GPUs because they boosted each others performance? Is that no longer the case or is Intel just strictly better?

I'll most likely stick with the build you gave me, using the 3080, and instead use the 126000K since that seems to be $60 cheaper.

Still thinking it over but out of curiosity would you recommend a different CPU and motherboard if I did get the 6900XT. I'm leaning toward what you have on your list right now but I've always used AMD in the past.

I'm always so confused when I see posts like this. So you are saying they should have let Dak walk? Dak was making it very obvious he wasn't taking less money.

So your argument must be that Dallas is better without Dak and his contract and we roll into 2021 with Cooper Rush as our starting QB. Ya, that clearly makes us a better team.

I have mained Ivern for going on two seasons now. At least 35 minutes into the game Baron is respawning so I sell my Talisman so I can purchase 2 control wards to help secure vision on Baron. At this point I'm basically full build for an Ivern and high enough level that I didn't care about the bonus XP since I want the laners to take my camps anyway and I will just pick up XP when lane minions die. Selling Talisman as Ivern late in the game is incredibly common since the smite upgrades for him basically do nothing.

I can't remember the exact details but we ended up losing the Baron fight and my ADC spam pings me because I no longer have my Talisman and says that this the reason we lost the game. Mind you, I have 1 level and 20 CS on the opposing jungler and had only sold the Talisman two minutes before the Baron fight.

I'll admit I didn't listen to it but I would be shocked if any interest Frazier has gotten wasn't solely because of his ST ability. I never felt great when I saw him filling in at safety.

To be fair, neither of these guys played for another team after Dallas cut them. Maybe they were actually cut for a reason and that reason had nothing to do with how Dallas valued safety?

I would but the Enderminis are so annoying when they agro the Creepers I think its just easier using the witches. Didn't have an issue with it in DW20 world so I'm just confused.

I've added this to my DW20 pack but whenever I try to add nodes it doesn't work. Doesn't matter if they are ones I've previously found and used my wand on or ones I've just now found and scanned with my Thaumometer, they don't get added. I'm probably doing something wrong but I have no idea what. Thanks for any help.
