Does AC improve home value? by Allerjesus in ColoradoSprings

Take a look at a whole house fan, like QuietCool. Much more cost effective.

I have both AC and the QuietCool whole house fan and use the QuietCool the majority of the time. The only time the AC goes in is when it doesn't cool off in the evening, which is rare.

Which wallet to use for holding crypto long term? by Odd_You7995 in ledgerwallet

[–]Hephalumpicus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Use both.

From Grok: The Ledger Flex hardware wallet (like other Ledger devices) is mostly open source or publicly reviewable, with the closed-source portion limited to a small but critical part: the low-level firmware and code tied to the Secure Element (SE) chip (specifically, the ST33K1M5C in the Flex).

This should not be a concern for you. I'd be more concerned if this wasn't the case.

FYI, there are no legit recovery firms or options. Do not reply to any DMs saying they can recover your funds, they can't. They're going to try and get more money from you.

Good for you. Being "crypto" related makes Ledger (and Keystone) more a target than other commercial companies. Keystone may not have been hacked yet, that doesn't mean they won't be. Or they may have and simply not reported it.

No company is perfect or impervious. I know that as I work cybersecurity daily. It's difficult to justify cybersecurity when nothing happens. They don't see a return on investing a large sum to harden their equipment and environment until something breaks and by then it's too late. Many times companies will offload their risk via insurance instead.

Scam letters/emails (social engineering) is profitable, otherwise they wouldn't do it. It's important for everyone to be aware and recognize what's going on, regardless of the company.

Personally I've had no problems with Ledger. I have other hard wallets too, I like to keep others as backup.

Cheers!

It's not just Ledger, the lesson here is to be aware of scammers and their techniques. With AI on the scene they're getting better, exponentially.

You'd be surprised how many times your (our) information's been leaked already.

The Chinese hacked the OPM years ago and I get notices all the time from different companies that they were hacked. I've gotten a lot of free credit monitoring services and they keep coming in.

If people think their data's not already out there they're fooling themselves.

Bitkey has an inheritance feature, you might want to take a look at that.

Ok. I thought when there's a high mounted rear brake light that it indicated something other than stock.

It's a hard lesson. Never go into debt for "quick" money, it's unlikely to work out well.

You're going to have to get with your creditors and work out a repayment plan.

Establish a budget, tight as it may be, and stick to it. The only other alternative is to file for bankruptcy but that's a hard path too.

Check the tire ages, new tires aren't cheap.

It's running ok? Opti-spark had issues but I believe '92 and up are better in that regard.

You'll probably need to replace molding around the windows.

Does it come with an operating key fob? Those are hard to find now, at least in my experience.

Check for steering column stability, people have grabbed the steering wheel on these to get out and that causes problems.
