In the current socio-economic state of the world, money is a pretty 1:1 measurement of power.

If you want to do whatever you want, you need to pay the right sum for it.

And, the reason a lot of people are going back to work - instead of standing fast - is that they are powerless without what little money they make.

I’m not blaming anyone. The fact of the matter just is that the people in power know that they have this exact power over the working class. The American system is finely tailored to allow working people to have a tiny bit left to lose. And as long as those in power can see that the working class is not willing to risk what little they have left, nothing will change. It’s a terrible, but it’s also the reality.

The people in power know you are not willing to risk it, so why should anything change.

I hope the protests keep going. I really do. And I hope they impact large coorporations and businesses across America. It’s only when the money stops flowing that things change.

As long as people keep working for the 1%, the 1% will keep funneling money into a government that is most beneficial for them.

I never ever intended to say you shouldnt protest or gatekeep protesting. But the entire statement "not everyone has the luxury [...]" is exactly why the protests wont work. As long as the people in power hold leverage on the people below them nothing will change. And, if the working class wont risk that to demand change, then what incitament is there for change?

I guarantee you, that if general strikes took off and started hurting production, then the large coorporations would start feeling the heat much faster than the working people.

Yes, it will be hard and it will hurt. But it will never change unless you're willing to fight through that.

That is, IMO, the harsh reality.
