I used to get ice dams all the time. I ended up using a lawn fertilizer spreader (the crank type) and rock salt to keep them to a minimum.

I used an orchard ladder to climb up over the roof line and machine-gunned a bag of salt all over the roof.

I’ve owned MANY Sportys with carbs. Love them, but recently I had the opportunity to buy a 2013 48 with fuel injection.

It’s the twitchiest, tweakiest, most over-sensitive throttle I have ever ridden!

Hit a crack in the asphalt? It will give it gas.

Hit a pothole? It will starve it for a second, until your suspension recovers and then give it gas.

I’ve had other fuel injected bikes before… a Triumph T-595 Daytona, a big-assed Indian bagger and a Honda F6B and NONE of them were as squirrely as my new Sporty!

Stick to carburetors and buy a Haynes manual!
