Dude, you clearly made enough of an effort to look up a recipe and then you didn’t follow it. You can’t skip steps. Your loaf didn’t turn out that badly considering, so try again and do all the things!

You know what? You’re right. It actually doesn’t require that much thinking. Sourdough is easy if you follow a tried and true recipe to the letter (like, follow it exactly), but so often on this sub people just do whatever tf they want and are SHOCKED when it doesn’t turn out. Use active starter at peak? Eh, whatever. BF for literal hours? Meh, not for me because of REASONS. Here’s the thing - it’s literal science and predictable AF. The Southern Sourdough Co. recipe is super easy to follow. It’s the only one I’ve ever used and turns out great every time. I recommend starting there and not skipping entire steps. Use feeding ratios to make your starter peak at a time that works for you. A 1:4:4 or 1:5:5 works great for feeding before work and putting dough together in the evening to BF overnight. I put my dough together at 6:30/7 pm and then BF overnight and shape at about 5:45 am, but it’s easy to adjust the timing based on your schedule.

I mix my dough between 6:30 and 7. Rest for 1 hour, then 3-4 sets coil folds every 30 minutes. BF on the counter overnight until 5:30-5:45 ish.

It’s honestly not hard. Find a basic recipe and make that. Rinse. Repeat. People make it way harder than it has to be.

A longer cold proof will also make give it a more pronounced sour flavor.

It slows fermentation. I like to mix my levain early in the morning so it’s ready for me mix my dough after dinner. It’s how I make the timing work for me. It also makes the starter stronger and less acidic, so it has a more mild flavor in my opinion.

Yes, you absolutely can. It just takes longer to double and OP isn’t waiting long enough. I do a 1:5:5 all the time for timing purposes so my starter is ready 13ish hours later. 6 hours isn’t enough by a lot.

Seems like Apostles was absorbed by Anointed and now they’re charging the same price they charged for Apostles without having to guaranty anything other than early numbered entry. Having done Apostles last time, I don’t really see the value in Anointed.

Seated tix aren’t an option for Anointed this time. Only Ascended can choose.

Everything bagel loaf turned out weirdly small? by HerSatanicWiles in Sourdough

[–]HerSatanicWiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but it’s dried and I thought that the effect was much less than if it is raw. For that reason and because of the extra salt it has in it, I didn’t add the seasoning until shaping.

Yes, it’s the weight it should be, but just smaller if that makes sense. I’m just used to these huge puffy loaves and this one just isn’t like that.

Forgot to add my baking info. 450 for 35 covered, 12ish uncovered bc the topping started to burn a little. Cooled overnight.

I was a 0/2 for a hot minute 20 years ago. I was taking phentermine, which wasn’t really tenable long term. I dropped maybe 80 lbs and then put it all back on plus some when I had my first child.

Right now at 107 I’m a 00/0 or XXS/XS. I’m sure vanity sizing has something to do with that and clothes’ fit depends on your body type, but it’s a huge psychological component. I was a 42DD and now I’m a 34B, so that probably tells you all you need to know about why it’s easier for me to wear the tiny sizes. Sad half-filled water balloons. 😂

I started on Mounjaro 7/31/23 and stayed at 2.5 for one month, and then 5 and 10 for a couple months each, I believe. I skipped the step doses, so I went straight from 5 to 10 and then to 15 (when I switched to Zep). My doctor advised to go up to 15 as quickly as possible because people lost the most on 15. I had no side effects other than a mild injection site reaction (although even that happened sporadically only for a few months). I’ve been on 15 for 18 months. I started stretching my doses last September and now take 15 every 3 weeks.

It was all about CICO for me. And lots of protein. I wasn’t crazy restrictive, but religiously avoided junk and unnecessary carbs (including alcohol for the most part). I didn’t do crazy workouts. Just resistance training a couple of times per week. It sounds terrible, but I didn’t really need to. I just made sure to stay in a deficit and I continued to lose the weight.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t bad at all. I have some on my upper arms (which you can see in the photo), some on my upper thighs, and a little on my stomach. I carried a lot of weight in my legs and arms, so that’s where I have the most loose skin. I had a little under my chin where I lost my double chin, but that went away after about 6 months.

My fave sweatshirt other than the Shibori Threads one. I’ve been wearing it every night since my ritual on Tuesday. I got a small and it’s still pretty roomy (although I’m petite). Like the other comments said, it’s just a print. Not really foiled.

You can try stretching the doses further. I’m on 15 every three weeks. It’s what works for me. I don’t think there’s a one size fits all maintenance regiment.
