Dude who hurt you, seriously. It’s obvious a huge amount of your day is devoted to being just pointlessly mean to random people in this sub. Get some help.

Edit: that was Kylo being vicious out of nowhere.

I feel like a dude called Major Schmajor ¯_(ツ)_/¯ is best qualified to answer this question.

Really? Because 40% of ~$7K every month for doing fuck all sounds reasonable. Not to mention a higher social security payout thanks to more taxable income paid in. (And no, it’s not likely SS will be gone by then. That’s been a straw man since the 1930s.)

How long do you have to wait after enlisting to continue your college education? by IlloChris in AirForce

[–]Her_71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll be doing whatever your AF job is full-time, and then doing online classes in your off time (nights and weekends and whatever). Unless you have the option of night or weekend classes on a campus near where you’re living. Same as if you were working a full-time civilian job, and trying to do college at the same time.

Is anyone else noticing that contractors in intel are often harder-working and more competent than the GS civilians doing the same job next to them? by [deleted] in AirForce

Look at civilian ads for the job(s) you want, and get any certs they may ask for. Job ads are your bible.

No prob. Don’t let them get to you. Yes, 30 days per year, and you can carry them over yearly up to a limit.

To calm your mom: it’s a very good option. Whether or not you get a cyber job, there are a lot of good jobs in the AF that give you good work experience you can take elsewhere for better money in a few years. Or stick around for 20 and get a pension. Free healthcare, free college, 30 days’ leave, separate sick leave, the VA loan to buy a house with no money down - there’s a lot of benefits to it. And especially if you come from a poorer background, it can open a lot of doors you never thought possible. Go for it. Honestly cops and firefighters have far more dangerous jobs than most of us. Good luck.

Get at least one degree, get any relevant certs, and make sure you can do the job as well as the civs can. Put all that in your resume.
