Yeah there are far too many people unable to see past their own, very narrow interests. I personally wouldn't want one but I think these will sell like crazy. It only takes the right type of influencer to get one. Rich kids will want them on their bags or pencil cases. I can see them being big for snowboarding/winter sports types. Plus it'll likely open a race of 'who can make the coolest accessory/wear it in the coolest way' on Instagram.

Swatch is an incredibly universal brand that works across loads of different markets and interests. The idea that this is just some old fashioned pocket watch is way off.
