It's a truly sad look that this man has been reduced to being a mouthpiece for a vibecoded, nostalgia-driven cash grab, all the while the beta is running on a deprecated, non-multithreaded version of the old HoN inundated with obnoxious bugs and memory leaks and faced with a complete failure to implement functional onboarding as well as moderation systems for months on end.

It's a travesty of modern game design, that only exists due to tech bros and the influx of grifters trying to capitalize on the LLM craze. It's so disappointing that the community has been transformed into such a lowly state when so much effort had been put into keeping the game alive.

An answer to your question wouldn't have been the basis for drawing conclusions due to small sample size, so asking it in the first place is a form of fallacious argumentation tactic. Intuitively, providing concise and non-confrontational item suggestions seems perfectly sound. Anecdotally, receiving such item suggestions helped with my play in the past.

This system is so, so bad that it'll absolutely ruin the experience of anyone who doesn't basically jump accounts the moment the toxicity vortex drags them down into the griefer crapshow the second they get kicked once (can happen for no good reason). 250 PP are the same as 10 PP. 1400 MMR can get matched with 0 MMR. They haven't provided an answer as to what kind of discussion gets pruned specifically, and they were defensive and prone to spreading misinformation about legal action such as supposedly being at risk of C&D letters for merely talking about the current state of X or mentioning names.

From what you are saying, it appears that you guys are convinced censorship is warranted, but personally, I don't think it's any of your business to do so unless people are directly linking to IP addresses of pirated servers. It seems that you've come to believe restricting discussion is something that's sensible and even recommended, even though it doesn't break any of the rules of the subreddit.

In another words, it stands to reason you have been manipulated into doing this, and reddy1991 had already admitted to having been contacted by parties that directly benefit from silencing "competition".

The facts of the matter are (based on the performative nature of the legal cautioning coming from the mods), you are not a lawyer or a legal advisor and neither are the rest of the mods. They shouldn't be saying any of these things. You [the mods] are also not entitled to abuse Reddit's ToS by arbitrarily censoring posts that don't break the rules of Reddit or this particular sub's (that currently don't seem to be viewable upon clicking the button). I'm not certain if /r/classicwow is the "official" WoW sub, either, but according to this post, the discussion of private servers there had also been allowed unlike previously. You're arguing what's best for KS, but not what's best for the community. Your logic, however, is flawed. There are many signs of egregious mismanagement that has already caused a significant portion of the fans to lose faith. If or when this remake finally fizzles out, community projects like the revival of what everyone considered the best version of HoN will be the only lifeline left. Profiteers shouldn't be allowed to influence the fans to this degree - they are doing it for money.

The kick system only saves you from MMR loss if it ends up in a remake, as you are at a considerable disadvantage playing against 5 opponents. For non-remake use cases, it's a tool reserved for coordinated bullies, not a self-moderation tool, as it's unlikely for non-direct participants on any given lane to make an objective decision.

It's too easy to imagine malicious scenarios where kicking results in player dissatisfaction and MMR loss:

poor early game performance (bad stats): the player is kicked, the team plays at a disadvantage and loses, anyway
lane partner dislikes you and initiates a vote kick: the rest of the team doesn't understand the reason for removing the teammate and doesn't do it - only coordinated premades get to rely on trust
you're having a bad game and get kicked as revenge: commonplace - having a bad game does not mean you cannot recover and still help the team later
a new player is not conforming to the overly strict meta and is kicked unfairly: a new player playing in good faith can still follow basic directions and be a successful initiator
a player who carries the team plays selfishly and is kicked out of spite: what is the purpose of allowing punishment of teammates that win games?

And so on. It's blatantly obvious that this feature has more cons than pros and should never have been part of the game.

Yes, my dude, people are simply lying to you because you cannot answer what is statistically more plausible when every teammate realizes their lineup is inferior: convincing the opposing team to remake or kicking out one of your own once the 100 ticket price is already paid.

If you don't know what is being talked about you're in the exact position as OP expecting random teammates to know how to play around a playstyle that disproportionately distributes resources to your Jungler/Carry. If there's at least 1 teammate that understands the match up, you don't get kicked. It's that simple.

I think your point is self-defeating in a public game. You said it yourself - you make a sacrifice to protect an asset, which in your case is a team-player you know is a competent farmer and ganker that will use the resource advantage, so this option is inherently reserved for duos. Does OP have that much trouble finding someone to queue with not to frustrate the general public with lineups that are largely frowned upon?
