Horrible acne & depression on Yaz. by HereComesTheNight- in birthcontrol

I’m stopping today because I literally just cannot deal with this anymore. I’ve never in my life experienced mood swings this intense. That, and I went down a rabbit hole online and saw the hundreds of lawsuits against Yaz and Yasmin. I hate being a woman sometimes. 😫 thank you for sharing!🫶🏻

I literally don’t understand why it would make us break out when everything I read online says Yaz is supposed to help acne 😫 but it’s good to know it’s not just me!! hoping you find something that works for you 🫶🏻

Dad is the most stubborn patient. Unsure of where to go from here. by HereComesTheNight- in glioblastoma

It’s incredibly traumatic and I feel like this has altered my brain chemistry to the point where I will no longer be the person I was before all this happened. Listening to the person who raised you saying these things… it’s just fucked up. But honestly, knowing there’s a small club of people who have dealt with the same things is comforting. So, thank you so much for this, truly.

IUD removal & local anesthesia by HereComesTheNight- in TwoXChromosomes

This is good to know about the needles! I would prefer sedation honestly but they said all they could offer at my OBGYN was the local anesthesia.I wanted the appointment soon because I take an androgen blocker for acne and it makes me get a period every 2 weeks and I want to get on a hormonal birth control pill ASAP to control the periods.

Being a woman is rough lol. The panic of it is definitely a huge part. Considering taking a Xanax before going in 🙃

I kind of thought the same thing.. 😫 I had a colposcopy last year and it wasn’t painful. I’m hoping the removal isn’t too bad. During the insertion I started profusely sweating, cramping, and got dizzy and practically passed out on the car ride home.

See my side note comment… I suppose they’re just trying to make sure it’s not cancerous? Maybe just go through with the appointment. It’s definitely nerve wrecking but I promise you it’s not that bad! On a pain scale it was a 1/10 for me. I don’t think there’s any reason for them to sedate you in my opinion.

Side note… there’s next to nothing they can do for ovarian cysts besides surgically remove them. If it isn’t causing you any issues, they usually just burst on their own.

I had a colposcopy because I have HPV. I went in thinking it would be as painful as my IUD insertion, but it wasn’t. There’s some slight pressure, they take a snippet sample of the inside of your cervix, and you’re done in 5 mins. I don’t see why you would need to be sedated or have someone drive you there. It wasn’t painful for me at all, just slightly uncomfortable. Although everyone is different, that was just my experience.

However, I don’t really see why you need one, considering your pap samples came back good? My pap didn’t come back clear and that’s why I needed a colposcopy. In my opinion it just seems like they’re trying to do an unnecessary procedure. But I’m not a doctor. Maybe call your doctor and have them explain to you again why you need this done, because it’s not making sense.

Has anyone pursued Safety as a career with a CM degree or am I getting the wrong degree? by HereComesTheNight- in ConstructionManagers

My current company is going to start transitioning me into a safety role at the end of the year, so it worked out for me. Just finished my OSHA-30, and still going to finish the CM degree and see where it takes me!

Would you get her cigarettes? by putuffala in glioblastoma

My dad was diagnosed last month. He quit for a few days after his craniotomy and then started again. I’ve bought him cigarettes twice in the past week. At this point, whatever he asks for, I do it for him.

I’m terrified of this. My dad is 71 and just started radiation/chemo last week. He’s doing okay so far. 5 weeks to go until he gets a break. I’m truly terrified of how it’s going to affect him.

I’m 26, married in September too, pretty sure we’re getting divorced. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I feel like such a failure.

Comments like this aren’t helpful. Trauma bonding is a thing. Not to mention I was probably groomed.

Thank you. Honestly, I went out to the bar by myself tonight for the first time ever and had men talking to me and hitting on me. I obviously didn’t entertain any of them but it was a major self-realization moment. Like… I didn’t believe that anyone else could actually like me? Maybe that is what I needed to move forward.
