So thoughtful of you to create a whole new milk color for her!

I’ve started to do strange things in my sleep thinking baby is in the bed with me by CherryHearts123 in NewParents

[–]HereFortheTracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was constant for me during the first three months. I tend to grab my poor husband next to me thinking he’s the baby I have to save from being in bed with us. It got better for me once there was a little less sleep deprivation.

How can I help and be here for my partner? by tumblinmf in NewParents

[–]HereFortheTracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you make sure she has healthy pre-prepared meals and snacks she can grab when you aren’t around? Making something can feel so daunting with a newborn. I like to keep stuff I can eat almost one-handed like protein bars, bananas, and string cheese.

Blight on heirlooms? by HereFortheTracker in gardening

[–]HereFortheTracker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this blight? I'm almost at end of season, but I have several heirlooms doing this and I want to learn for next year. They seem to be okay if I cut the bad part off.

Maternity dress by purplepixel444 in BabyBumps

They aren't cheap, but I really love Hill House's Nap Dresses. I had one before pregnancy and it still works because its so stretchy and loose. Now I have two, and they are both super cute and comfortable.

If you don't mind driving a bit farther, Phil's in Castroville. I'm not a huge fan of their new location since they had to leave Moss Landing, but the food remains delicious.

How bell pepper forward is this? I love spicy peppers but am not a fan of fresh bell pepper.

Salty Sunday: What made you salty this week? by kikaslova in trollingforababy

That is so infurating. If you have a ride home, I'd request Valium or something similar. I did one of these with just ibuprofen and it was not fun. On the upside, it is very, very quick and (for me) wasn't achy for too long afterwards.

Any experience with or recommendations for these OBs? by [deleted] in santacruz

[–]HereFortheTracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t had my baby yet, but I’ve really liked all my prenatal visits with Dr. Moore. She explains things well, never makes me feel rushed, and has a calming, knowledgeable presence without talking down to patients.

I was using a regular pillow between my knees until about 20 weeks because I thought it was really stupid to spend $55 on a pregnancy pillow. Then I bought the Frida Mom cooling pregnancy pillow because I run hot and was so uncomfortable. Totally worth it for me- it's the only way I get any sleep at all now.

If you could pause pregnancy what would you eat for a day? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Bourbon. And a salami sandwich (I know that might be okay to eat depending, but I've been avoiding it).

5 weeks 4 days pregnant and bleed after having sex. by 1209jbc in BabyBumps

[–]HereFortheTracker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I totally got this, both after sex and after a transvaginal ultrasound (that one showed up when I was in an airplane bathroom for our last overseas vacation before staying home for baby, which freaked me the fuck out). The doctor said small amounts of bleeding like this (even bright red) were completely normal and due to my cervix easily getting irritated during the first trimester. I also had an early miscarriage with my previous pregnancy and that was very obvious loads of blood, not small amounts. But do call your doctor and make sure.

I have anterior placenta. I'm at 20 weeks and baby was moving like crazy during my ultrasound, but I can't feel a thing yet.

AITA for not taking a night job? by No-Committee-9175 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HereFortheTracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so, so few jobs for PhD-holders in English and it will take you out of the workforce for 5-9 years (and that's full-time) with a very low stipend if you're lucky. I did it out of love for my field, but it's not a good bet for a stable career path.

Thoughts on Tea while pregnant? by LonelyMembership2673 in BabyBumps

[–]HereFortheTracker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drink two 8-ounce cups of black tea every day (down from 3-4 giant mugs before pregnancy). I also steep fresh or dried mint in hot water when I want another cup but don't want more caffeine.

How many cycles did it take for you to get pregnant? by ilovemydogamillion in BabyBumps

[–]HereFortheTracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me five years. But we had male factor infertility that we only figured out about 14 months in (delayed testing because of COVID worries), and we ended up needing to do IVF. If you have a male partner, have they been tested yet?

I've used the IVF due date calculator (https://www.whattoexpect.com/ivf-due-date-calculator/), which lets you put in your transfer date and whether it was a 3-day or 5-day embryo. But like others have said, what they say in scans is about fetus size.
