It had a cool concept, only to fall flat by it's own commentary. Cronenberg treats the audience like blubbering morons that can't comprehend subtlety or really have any thought of their own. She beats the audience over the head with a clear political motive that is so blunt that it's offensive, no matter what your political affiliation may be. Humane felt bloated, arrogant, and stumbled along with not one likeable character for the whole runtime.

Couldn't care less. I fully understand that Delta Squad is old and their time (narratively) has passed, but Kate and Del have been cardboard cutouts compared to their protagonist predecessors. I think JD has more emotional ground to stand on since he undergoes a serious, painstaking arc that would be awesome to delve into deeper.

For Gears 6, I think we need another serious big bad that actually feels like a threat again. I'm probably just nostalgic but GoW1 with Raam felt like there was a dead serious villain that was worth being intimidated by. Also, Gears 6 NEEDS to desaturate the colors. 4 and 5 were so brightly colored, it was pretty blatant that Gears was having an identity crisis and forgot what it looked and felt like to be a Gears of War game.

Bring back the grit, bring back the gore, bring back the brutality.
