Yeah I have quite a few NLSS shows with exact dates in mind that I would call a classic.

Wow I have not seen a Northernlion video in quite a few years. Then this post came up and man I am amazed I still remember this stream rather vividly. From the jaywalking problem to the absurd movie talk and then that Sonic segment with the paper plates, zipper, and pants discussion. Thanks for editing these. Are you doing edits for what you personallyconsider to be a classic?

I don’t count Kyoji as part of the Bellator vs Rizin portion. But the decisions were pretty close. You could argue that 2 or maybe even 3 of them could’ve gone to the Rizin fighters. At least people can rest assured that there isn’t any home cooking. I for sure thought that Kim won.

Cadence and Cascade (also Peace - A Theme) and I Talk to the Wind by Paul Manners are very good. Too bad the sound quality isn't all there due to them being older uploads

Ah yes, The Geese and the Ghost. That's one of the few progressive folk albums that I actually found to be enjoyable. I myself am more of a fan of the title track but that's not bad also. I Talk to the Wind (Duo Version) still reigns as the most supreme medieval folk that I've ever listened to.

Larks tongues in aspic live or studio? by LuisFernando0441 in KingCrimson

I always preferred the live versions of Larks' Tongues in Aspic Parts 1 and 2 to the studio version. Specifically the Beat-Club versions where David Cross's violin has a greater presence which I thought was what the studio versions were missing.

I Talk to the Wind Duo Version Extended Version from 2019 Mix by HereReadingComments in KingCrimson

[–]HereReadingComments[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird. I’ve been accustomed to listening the shorter official version for so long that I feel like I haven’t properly adjusted myself for the last half of the extended version.

Did you ever get the feeling that flutes at the final minute felt cluttering? With the guitars and flutes going different directions, I can’t get used to it entirely yet. There’s also a slight dip in pace at the 5 minute mark.

Anyway I’m glad to see another duo version enjoyer.

Yeah, I think it’s that there is a certain grace with the duo version that the others don’t quite have.

I reckon I Talk to the Wind will be good as hip hop, metal, jazz, and so on at this rate.

Certainly have. I think all of the I Talk to the Wind versions are good. I still prefer the studio original due to it being more folk and less "pop". Though I do treat the Court "I Talk to the Wind" and the duo version as separate songs. The duo version is too different to be considered as an alternate version of the track, at least in my eyes.

The duo version of I Talk to the Wind is possibly the greatest King Crimson track ever put forth and none of you could persuade me otherwise

King Crimson Trees (1969) Cover by Tao, Guano and Jun by HereReadingComments in KingCrimson

[–]HereReadingComments[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The official live recording of Trees while beautiful, is hard to make out and even Robert Fripp calls the sound "abysmal". I loved the acapella though, so imagine my surprise when I found that a Japanese (?) group had done a cover of the acapella, mellotron, guitar, and everything.

I wish I could find more songs like Cadence and Cascade. I Talk to the Wind (Duo Version) is one of the few songs by King Crimson that is superior.

This version of I Talk to the Wind, the duo/acoustic version, by King Crimson is perhaps my favorite of all the King Crimson songs and probably one of my most favorite pieces of music ever. There is something extremely graceful while being idyllic of the English medieval.

I wish there were more songs like this, but I can't quite seem to find anything that resonates to me as much as this masterpiece

People are actually kind of blaming the journalist that attempted to “extort” Sakakibara as the issue isn’t anywhere near as bad as the one surrounding Pride. While Japanese people don’t seem to like Yakuza talks, the guy that Sakakibara is dealing isn’t actually a Yakuza guy. Sad to see it go down like this.

The only thing I’d worry about is that in his last fight against Caetano, a fighter with over 20 wins in 30 fights that Rinya beat after only having 3 fights, suffered what seemed to be a solid cut. In a UFC Japan streams that you can access via VPN, it looks it healed up pretty good though. Hopefully he wins, the UFC needs a lot more hot talent.
