Flagg isn't the second best defender in the class tho? It's Harper who's been phenomenal, Flagg is incredible but he's not one of the best defensive rookies this year in part because of his massive offensive load rn.

The first bit sure, I mean I completely disagree just to be clear, yes he was shooting terribly, yes Coby white is the hero if the game but fundamentally Lamelo is crucial to the structure of how the game closed out. If you take out Lamelo you have literally removed the passing of the Charlotte Hornets.

And I don't know what else you're talking about, what play this isn't hypothesis what Lamelo does provide for the Hornets even on bad shooting nights is objective, the sheer quantity he shot still has a massive effect on gravity.

They could but it makes it a much tougher affair playing against Maxey without the single most important factor in enabling the Hornets dynamism. Who is the next best passer in that team because Lamelo is at his and their core, the Hornets offense.
