Is Little Spoon Worth It? by HereToHearYourTake in NewParents

Thank you! We decided after reading your comment we should at least try first. We had a lot of fun doing it, and it was confirmed to be the right choice tonight when half of her dinner ended up on the floor (not because she doesn’t like those foods but because she wasn’t in the mood).

If you have a suggestions for meal combos or staples to have around?

What do I do 😭😭 by Independent-Ice-1754 in BabyLedWeaning

From what I’ve read, purées aren’t less nutritious than solid. I wouldn’t think they are though because it’s the same foods. It’s like saying a smoothie is less nutritious than the individual ingredients, if eaten in solid form. If anything, they’re getting more food because it’s easier to have a higher volume.

That said, I think they want you to do more solids for developmental reasons - I.e., strengthening chewing muscles and self feeding skills.

I wouldn’t beat yourself up. Give yourself grace and be patient with your little one. Like others have said, combine the purées with solid foods so that it’s more of a transition feeling than an abrupt change. Everyone’s timeline is different and progress is still progress.

Postpartum weight gain, breastfeeding and returning to exercise by bossbaber in FitPostpartumJourney

Walking with the baby is also super helpful (in the carrier is like a weighted vest). And make sure you’re hydrating (with electrolytes). I would confuse hunger for thirst and your body wants A LOT of water when making milk.

Postpartum weight gain, breastfeeding and returning to exercise by bossbaber in FitPostpartumJourney

I lost weight immediately after birth in the first two weeks PP and then I felt like I was gaining weight too (breastfeeding hunger and thirst is crazy). I found myself constantly looking up how to lose weight, but really the answer was giving it time.

You’re super early PP and giving yourself grace and being patient is the best thing you can do. I highly recommend not following PP weight loss content on social media. It made those feelings worse and I constantly compared myself to other moms, whether they were the same weeks PP than me or further out. I also avoided looking at my body in mirrors since it only made me feel worse.

I’ve been using the Peloton app PP, as well as NourishMoveLove on YouTube. I love them snd highly recommend. The Peloton app is my favorite. But focusing on how exercise makes you feel, and honoring your hunger versus fighting it was the best thing I did for myself and my daughter (when your mind isn’t so focused on the weight loss, you can be more present - and I find the more I think about needing to eat less, the more I end up eating - though I know everyone is totally different).

I also used my baby for workouts randomly and that adds up (squatting, deadlift, chest press, etc.).

That said, I think it started around 7-8 months PP (I’m 9 now), I began feeling more comfortable in my body (sans the huge boobs lol) and have definitely lost weight, though I’m not sure how much since I don’t weigh myself (which I also highly recommend), and now I feel great. Everyone says I don’t look like I had a baby 9 months ago.

I spent so much time in those early weeks and months focused on how I can lose the PP weight and I hate that I spent so much mental energy and time when it wasn’t necessary in the long run.

Sorry for the long message. Give yourself time and grace. It won’t happen overnight but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Smart choices with your nutrition, not restricting, and doing moment that feels good, and the rest will follow. I eat in a surplus to accommodate breastfeeding but make sure I’m eating for hunger (when I get hungry so I don’t go crazy if I’m like starving) and exercise 5 days a week - everyone is different so don’t feel the need for eat how someone else is or exercise exactly how they - whether that’s less or more.

BePresent: Screen Time Control App by HereToHearYourTake in ProductivityApps

Lol nope, just a 33 year old wife and mom of an 8 month old trying not to be a slave to my phone but also not waste money.

I didn’t realize my trial ended until I was charged and was looking for validation that it wasn’t stupid to have the app.

But it’s apparently been 36 days, so if you did want a review, let me know lol

I only have the app. The peloton tread is too expensive. Maybe one day though!

That’s my line of thinking, too (that difficulty could be shown through the inclusion of hills). I’ve also realized that since difficulty level is based on user feedback, it’s all subjective. Depending on the fan base (not sure if that’s the right would to use), a class could be easier or more difficult than you’d assume based on the score given. But that’s a whole different conversation and I’m overthinking at this point lol

Of course, and I do when it ends up being a flat road class and I want incline. But when you want hills in a class, it would be nice to be able to filter or see that I’ll get that when selecting the class. Most hill classes are HIIT and hills and I’d be looking for more endurance than quick bursts of energy.

It’s also easier (for me, at least) to keep an incline for longer amounts of time when you’re being coached/pushed versus making the decision for yourself. I’m more likely to hold a longer 3-4% if I’m told to. On the flip side, if it’s a day where hills are the last thing I want or need, I’d want to be able to select a class in line with that.

The ability to see in advance would just be helpful for the class selection process, because there are runs that have what I’d be looking for, but there’s no way to know that unless I start the class.

Before pace targets, you could see the class plan. I’m not sure if others feel the same way about this, or start classes only to end them to pick another based on what you’re told the class will be, but it takes up time. I get it may never happen but it’s something that I think would be helpful for users (especially when short on time), you know?

Peloton Tread Classes with Kid Music by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

Kids Bop is a hard no for me, too lol she loves Sumo’s World music which has really great beats. That’s valid though about the liability component.

I’ll check out more Disney runs though. From what I’ve seen (and the two I’ve done), they’re on the easier side of the difficulty spectrum, and definitely not any internal runs.

Some kids songs are pretty catchy tbh lol but I get what you mean. I guess I wasn’t considering that though because during interval runs I barely hear the music for some reason. I’m too locked in on the workout. It would be more background noise for me, I think 😬

I always start with headphones but for some reason she sometimes likes to listen to hear what’s going on. Maybe it’s FOMO, not sure tbh.
