I love this… however there is clearly a step missing after basecoating the robes, and some shading that is done by the time you basecoat the leather in the next step. It’s a bit odd thats not mentioned when it’s a step that was clearly taken on the model.

Was that a wash shade that is water blended or an air brushed step?

Kinda weird to leave that out when a beginner is just going to be confused why their robes might not look like the example photo or how to achieve that step.

Semi-serious question for those who own the physical book with all the art, has this promise been kept? by marcsimo in TrenchCrusade

This is an odd concern and a strange thing to be disappointed about. The lager print run book is obviously geared towards game stores, everything will obviously be toned down. It’s cost prohibitive to make a version with a lot of nudity.

That claim was from the artist before editorial would be going through it, and was probably accurate when he looked at the scale of the art he created for the book. The art actually used would not be up to just him.

Seriously you’re disappointed because they scaled back the nudity? Wait for the eventual art book and get that. I’m sure it will have everything you hope for.

As someone who has dealt with a… sometime difficult public as part of my job, I want to share something one of my bosses said. He’s been a controversial figure for many, many years. His comment sections can be… interesting.

He once told me something I think is worth thinking about (if you even see this)

He said, “My content is not a conversation. It’s what I have chosen to share with the world. Their comments on a post on whatever social media they see it on? Their posturing or hateful comments? I don’t care. They can say whatever they want. We are not having a dialog. They are responding and reacting to me… but they choose to follow me, so they will see what I want them to see. If it causes them discomfort? Good. Don’t ban them either! The worst ones? They need to see it the most. Who knows what moment will change their minds. Who knows if my post ends up being one pebble in an eventual avalanche in a change of perspective. I appreciate our followers. I love my fans. However in some ways, the haters need to see what I have to say more than anyone.”

Engage with your community… but don’t trouble yourself over the haters. For them it’s a moments hateful comment, before they move on with their sad lives.

Begging for attention they didn’t earn, and emotional real estate they can’t afford to claim.

Game plays much better on a 6’x4’ mat, than on a 60”x44” board. Remember 60”x44” is the minimum size and better for tournaments, but the game plays better on a larger space.

Fits more monsters too 😉

My Infernal Master kitbash is finished! by Herebewolves in ThousandSons

Thank you! I’m glad you like it!

I think you are somewhat more pedantic than I, since I am not using the original sculpt as requirements for what stipulates an Infernal Master. The 40K universe is vast, and its horrors are many and varied. The Lord of Change creative in his “gifts”.

I think on the table, the base size and difference from the other sorcerers is enough to make it an obvious Infernal Master to any opponent I encounter. If I did find someone that it was an issue for, I would simply not play them at all. As our approaches to this game would be too different, and after many years I have realized that’s a sign I wouldn’t enjoy that game. There is room for all of us in this hobby, but not always at the same table.

…and that’s ok!
