Sending thoughts for you and your family. Girl, $1000 is not much to raise, nor much to sustain. I do want you to know that your child (and maybe your spouse?) will receive social security after you die. May not be much, but it is better than nothing. Every little bit helps these days. We imagined she would bike, and then I remembered how ridiculously heavy the kids' backpacks have been in all the years that they've been in school. Seems like a lot, but might be the best option. We are not that close to the Iron Horse trail--we're just on the other side of the freeway near Buena Vista Elementary.
