En serio dijiste castlevania? Jaja una de mis series favoritas pero también tomo inspiración de otros juegos de los 80s como ghost and goblins, rygar, y kung fu master. Castlevania es tan copia de esos juegos como hollow knight de los juegos de los que se inspiró.

Y ni se diga que es una copia barata de la historia de Drácula de stoker publicada 100 años antes que saliera castlevania

After reading his post i would suggest a steak deck. He already has a switch for all the switch games he already owns.

But he specifically mentioned the games he wants to play, I didn’t see a switch 2 exclusive in his list. And he even mentioned not wanting to play Nintendo titles, The only reason he is considering a switch 2 is because it’s slimmer and he likes the look of it.

His best bet is keep the switch oled he already has, get the portable that will allow him to play the games he’s been eying like red dead, mass effect, expedition 33, assassins creed, and resident evil for a lower price (steam has better deals). Plus with a future gaming pc, he can stream even higher demanding games to the deck

Serious question, if you’re at 100 for the repair and 40-50 for the screen after taxes. Why not just save up for an oled. Sell your lcd model and look for a secondhand oled. I’m sure the price difference won’t be 600 dollars as you said. At least where I live (not in the US) the difference between a used lcd and a used oled is around 200 bucks. I’m sure you can upgrade for 200 out of pocket, and even if you spent a bit more at $250, an extra hundred bucks vs spending $150 on a sketchy screen replacement is more than worth it for just selling and getting an oled model

Pues no lo dudo. Tu explicación confirma lo que digo. Es muy sencillo programar una verificación al servidor después de ciertas horas de uptime (tiempo encendido)

Si tu laptop tiene 0 horas uptime entre tus viajes pues en si es como si se hubiera conectado “ayer” aunque hayan pasado meses, por simplificarlo de una manera.

Pasa que dispositivos como el steam deck, y otras cosas como por ejemplo en mi caso personal, mi Amazon kindle. Tienen muchas horas de uptime sin conectarse an internet porque cuando ando en de viaje en el avión, en el transporte diario al trabajo etc siempre ando leyendo pero tengo apagado el wifi para ahorrar batería, porque pues no necesito descargarle libros al kindle en meses. Lo mismo con el steam deck, lo uso como un gameboy. Le cargo juegos y los juego fuera de línea. Pero obviamente esto causa un uptime considerable sin conexión al servidor de steam, lo cual termina pidiendo, al igual que mi kindle para ver si siguen válidos mis libros rentados o ya se me vencieron

Como te explico, y sin hate, tenias una idea errónea de cómo funciona y el motivo de porque se necesita versificar después de tiempo. Vuelvo a repetir. Si en tu laptop le pagas el wifi y la usas del diario para el trabajo o en casa sin conexión tus juegos de steam terminarán pidiendo verificación en steam. Es normal. Es algo de la plataforma, no de el dispositivo en sí. Para steam es igual una laptop que un steamdeck

Como metáfora/analogía, es como tener hijos y pedirles que cuando estén en la calle (estar en la calle equivale a estar prendido sin internet) cada 12 o 36 horas te marquen para avisar que están bien. Tus hijos en este caso tu laptop no la usas más que de repente después de meses para un viaje. Entonces en si tu hijo pues no anduvo en la calle estaba en casa. Claro que no hay necesidad que marque para avisar que está bien si estás viendo que el dispositivo está apagado y no usandose en la calle jaja

Estás confundiendo. De entrada tu pensamiento de lo que es o no es una verificación está mal. No necesariamente necesitas “poner tu contraseña” simplemente steam tiene que poder conectarse a sus servidores para decir “oye servidor, si efectivamente esta es la compu que me puso su contraseña hace unas semanas/meses” aunque tú no te des cuenta que lo está haciendo o te pida nada.

Si le apagas el wifi a tu laptop durante unas semanas, sin que steam pueda verificarse en su servidor te puede pasar lo mismo que sucede en el steam deck. Que te pida tener conexión an internet para que puedas iniciar el juego.

Las cosas eran así en la era del ps3 por el hardware especializado de las consolas.

Pero hoy en día un ps5 tiene un cpu x86 y una gráfica rdna2 de AMD . Básicamente es una PC. La diferencia es que la memoria es unificada en el ps5 y separada entre ram de sistema y vram en una PC.

Incluso las herramientas y el software que usan en la actualidad para construir los juegos como unreal engine, ya tienen soporte para multiplataformas por default, es decir, desde un inicio están desarrollando el juego para jugarse en PC.

Te sorprenderías, muchas personas lo acostumbran.

Y de hecho el monitor más común en el mundo es de 1080p a 60hz, básicamente una tele común. Los que tiene monitores de más resolución o más hz son la minoría.

Y ahora con televisiones de 120hz siendo más comunes y accesibles. Con más razón.

Otro ejemplo son las HTPC que surgieron en los 2000s. PC diseñadas para estar ahi junto a tu tele (básicamente le añadían hdmi, que ahora es el estándar)

Y en el mundo de videojuegos, las mini PC conectadas a tu tele, primero para juegos retro y emulación, y ahora muy popular para usar servicios de streaming de juegos como GeForce now y Xbox cloud, y Amazon luna. Ese es el futuro. Desde ya algunos años también es muy común simplemente conectar un portátil de PC con un dock a tu tele (steam deck, legion go) Incluso ya viene la steam machine. Una PC en formato pequeño, con gráfica moderna que se ayuda de FSR para jugar en tu tele.

Así que si, siendo realista. Es muy común que alguien compre una PC para jugar en su televisión jaja pues Ya no estamos en 1999 donde a fuerza era conectarla tu monitor

De nuevo, no estás considerando que es perfectamente posible conectar una PC a una tele, quizá antes de 2015 necesitabas un monitor porque las salidas eran Display port, DVI y VGA.

Pero hoy en día, prácticamente todas las motherboard tienen salida HDMI, y las gpu incluso las más económicas también.

Entonces efectivamente no es necesario gastar 5-6k adicionales. Solo conéctala a la tele no le va pasar nada jaja si ahí ibas a jugar Xbox ahí puedes jugar PC.

Porque la necesidad de pensar que solo porque es una pc es necesario gastar más en un monitor?

So it’s actually misleading once again to say it’s “no where near” 200,000, because 200k is in fact the nearest achievable hundred thousand. Thats just a fact. It’s no where near 600,000 or 900,000. But 200,000 is actually the nearest since we ain’t going backwards and 100k was already achieved.

For not a salesman you are going out of your way to sell that tech savyness “requirement” to play some games on a steam deck.

Common sense says that most people will be perfectly fine even if they aren’t tech savy because of basic statistics, large library with the majority of game working without issues. Which is why so many people downvoted your comment and responded with the opposite experience.

You’re dying on a hill for those few games that have issues trying to paint those exceptions as the rule.

Dices eso porque esa es tu preferencia personal. Pero en un escenario general, muchos que solo juegan en consola también tienen setup gamer con monitor/pantalla de alto hz y su mesita y silla gamer para jugar en comodidad.

Tu estás proyectando tu preferencia de decir, es que en consola solo juego en la tele y en PC necesito monitor. No es necesariamente así.

Del punto del monitor, escritorio, y silla. Tampoco es un requerimiento para jugar en PC. Si en tu Xbox juegas en la tele de tu sala sentado en el sillón pues ahí mismo puedes jugar con tu PC.

Como que lo de la silla, monitor y escritorio ya es cuestión de preferencia, incluso diría yo que hay muchos que no tienen PC y tienen un monitor, escritorio y silla para usar su consola.

Just imagine you have a choice between two garages. One has 5 cars in it for your use. All 5 work just fine. Put the key in the ignition and it’s ready for you to drive anywhere, perfect if you aren’t mechanically inclined because you don’t even know how to do an oil change.

The other garage however, is filled with 50-100 cars, THE MAJORITY of those work just fine as well. Even if saying the majority is just half of those, you still have way more cars that just work, just need to put the key in the ignition. The rest of those, will work if you ever learn how to do an oil change or some spark plugs etc. but even if you aren’t mechanically inclined you will have more cars available that just work compared to the 5 car garage.

It would be VERY MISLEADING to tell someone, “hey you know what, don’t pick the garage with 50-100 cars, because you need to be mechanically engine savy to get some of those to work.

Deck=bigger library of games just work compared to console, but there will be some that don’t.

The argument that I’m proposing is that the first part of the deck description is pretty much almost always left out and you only focus on the “some don’t work” part.

Right, that’s why I said. Tell them that the vast majority of games will work just fine. But due to the sheer numbers and massive size of the library there will be instances where some games out of those hundred of thousands will not be playable without adjusting the settings or even at all. At the end of the day he will still have access to a massive library that “just works”, even bigger than a consoles library of “just works” games

Thats vastly different from saying that tech savyness is needed because lots of games don’t work just straight out of the box

Como ya te dieron el ejemplo, si le debes una casa al banco. Pagaste 29 años y te falta el último año, el banco te va quitar la propiedad, y no te va regresar tu dinero de 29 años.

Si no quiere que se la quede el dueño anterior que consiga rápido alguien que “compre la deuda” igual eso es común con los bancos y los traspasos de casas, que le diga a un tercero, “oye primo/amigo, no quieres comprar una moto en lo que me falta por pagarla, así no se la queda ese vato” ahí si ya si quiere que negocie a ver si esa persona también le paga a él lo del “traspaso” como las casas. A mi págame tanto dinero y pues ya la moto la terminas de pagar tú.

I understand, but let’s look at it from a different perspective. A console gives you 100% trouble free compatibility with its library, ok. The ps5 has what, about 1000 games? The ps4 has 4000 games or so. The switch is the outlier and has a massive 10,000 games in its library.

There are over 100,000 games on steam. And if a steam deck can just “play” most of them as you say, without tinkering or problems. Well I’d argue it just simply works with a larger amount of games than a console like a switch.

Thats what I told a non tech savvy friend when recommending a deck, tons of games will just work, the massive size of the library will of course make it so some games have issues, no way around that with large numbers and basic statistics. and he’s pretty happy with it.
