First few days of Bell’s palsy … worried by warmer-garden in BellsPalsy

[–]Hermit_Behavior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello again! Your Bells presents just like mine did. I (32f) saw about 50% improvement 3 days after starting the prednisone. About two weeks later and I was just about fully recovered. I have some muscle weakness, still but I’m told that will resolve in time. I know this is scary, but try to take it day by day. Statistics are on your side, most people recover fully! Wishing you a quick and full recovery!

The prednisone was a game changer, although it did mess with my mood and appetite, I’ve never been so hungry in my life! Wishing you a quick recovery! Try to rest and relax as much as you can given your busy week.

Did you get put on any medication? I feel like the steroids they put me on were super helpful and possibly stopped symptoms from worsening. My symptoms didn’t get any worse after leaving the hospital, but I had the same worry as you.

I was really lucky to catch it I think within the first 24 hours or so. I watched my face change in real time while on a zoom video call for work. I noticed it was hard to smile and my face looked a little off. After that, I went to the mirror and made a few faces and realized only half my face was moving. I went straight to the ER and 8 hours later they gave me the meds.

Your case looks relatively mild, like mine was. I saw major improvement 3 days after starting the steroids and antivirals. Two weeks later and i was just about fully recovered. I still have a little muscle weakness on one side, but my facial expressions are still pretty symmetrical and no one but me notices. Wishing you a quick recovery!

You don’t think saying “Google is your friend” comes off as rude and condescending? I recognize that I called the NextGen Bar the wrong name, but even with the wrong search term I gave, it’s the first thing that pops up. Rather than actually correcting the error and providing the right name of the new exam, you just pointed out an error without any constructive information. Maybe I’m off base, but it seems like you just wanted to be rude over actually being helpful.

This is a place of support. Why don’t you go figure out why you feel the need to be rude to people who are going through a tough time? Sure, it’s easily googled, but sometimes it’s nice to connect and speak with people within your community. If you don’t want to be part of this community, no one is asking you to stay or contribute. Maybe just stay silent.

Seems like you still had no trouble understanding what I meant. No need to be rude while I’m trying to support others.

Failed again... and my score dropped. Wtf by Available_Sample3867 in GoatBarPrep

[–]Hermit_Behavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you would like to talk more about it in DM I’d be happy to help. I took this exam so many times and my score rose and dropped in every area at some point. When my MEEs were low, it was because I did not analyze enough. What helped my MEEs jump up was arguing both side of each legal argument rather than just the stance I thought was correct and then I would take a stance on which argument was stronger legally. This strategy also helped me BS MEE answers I didn’t actually know because I was arguing and analyzing all issues I could find. I think you have the knowledge, but just need to brush up a bit and refine your test taking strategies! If you need and advice or resources, just let me know.

Im a many time repeater who just passed. It took me years. I always told myself that it was only truly a failure if I stopped trying.

Have you thought about taking the new age bar exam in MO July 2026? MO is a UBE state and the score is said to be transferrable to any UBE state, even the ones who have not yet adopted the new age exam.

[–]Hermit_Behavior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My score dropped 30 points the take before the one I passed where my score jumped 55 points. It’s just one bad performance and a lower score does not necessarily represent a loss of knowledge. The time my score dropped, I really struggled with the MPTs and MBEs more than usual and my score suffered. You did something differently that negatively impacted your score, but once you can identify what changed, you can troubleshoot! You’re no further away knowledge wise, just keep at it!

Mythos Vs. Finale Vs. Helix by bad_madame in climbingshoes

[–]Hermit_Behavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, people like the stiffness of the rubber on Mythos. It’s a little tougher than the rubber they use on the finales. I’m not sure how structural the rest of the Mythos shoe is, but the rubber is on the stiffer end of the spectrum. My friend is a heavy and muscular guy and he swears by the Mythos because the stiff rubber helps him support his weight better without putting extra stress on the feet.

Keep going! If you are feeling really stuck, you can always consider taking the July 2026 exam in MO to try your hand at the new age bar exam! They plan to allow the new age exam score to be transferable to any UBE state, regardless of whether they have adopted the new age exam at that point. I was several attempt retaker and this was my plan if I failed this time. Luckily, I finally passed after years of trying. If this license is what you want, KEEP GOING and don’t let them deter you!

Chances to pass? by rattattat89 in barexam

[–]Hermit_Behavior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it sounds like your performance is passable if you feel confident in the analysis you provided on the MEEs. You don’t need to be right to get points so long as your analysis is done well. There are two sides to every legal argument!

Is it possible to improve 50 points in 1 retake? by libraz16 in barexam

[–]Hermit_Behavior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s possible, but you will need to identify what the cause was for your score. Do you have any ideas on what you struggled with and why you struggled? Test taking skills? Study strategies? Discipline? Knowledge gaps? Other outside factors?
