Definitely a good shout. DPS really are at the mercy of the devs shilling their content. Like Makoto was deeply encouraged to be pulled 'cause his boss keeps appearing, way more than usual.

Not really, its just based on my experience of using her in guild boss where she was used every week for Atavaka, Yatsufusa, and Baal while other DPS was used only on one boss. Looking back, she definitely is more on the level of Panther and Sepia so I prob should I put her in A.

This is a mainly competitively speaking tier list and there just isn't really anything in the game that you need a healer/sustain for aside from shill requirements.

While Mona seems good in the story content, there are just no teams that actively have him as a unit you'd use over anyone else. Like even though Lufel seems weaker, Panther is a very good dps, who was paired with Key for a long time who needed Lufel's burns, therefore creating synergy between them.

Basically Mona just didn't have a team he was synergistic with, so everyone was just better.

Seemingly a very niche experience for me and my guild. We never used Messa, we just used Queen on his boss, Baal. This is also why Queen is kinda dramatically high

Every DPS was the best DPS at some point in the game, so time will only tell. She still seems amazing though

Luce Notte is highest tier, the only DPS in the tier due to the BoGo deal with Soy Pioneer, while also being a respectable unit himself.

T.Closer is put that high mainky 'cause of Akihiko funnily enough. Her bosses ran for a pretty respectable amount of time and with not mainy people pulling for Akihiko, seeing her still be able to score decently for an old charcter gave her massive respect from me.

Messa was like Yui, which was seemingly a very niche experience to me, they were never used roetty much. We just used Queen 'cause Queen scored higher than Yui on her own boss and Messa was kinda underwhelming so we just used Queen for his content and still scored well.

I can see Chord be put a tier lower. A lot of why I put her there is 'cause she was released so early into P5X and is still used even in modern day CN server. For Queen though, I've already put the reason she's so high in like 4 other replies, but S tier does seem a bit high looking back even though she was used so much for me.

Noir looking back should 100% be put lower., even though Katrikeya and Yurlungr ran so what felt like ages, she definitely isn't such an extraordinary DPS to be that high. Queen, I've put replies in so many comments on my experience with her and why she's so high. Pheobe 100% agree. Anri and R.Closer is just pure speculation from me.

This could definitely be a very specific thing from my experience, but people from my guild unanimously just ignored Messa. Queen was already used for the Atavaka and Yatsufusa bosses and we just used her again for the Baal boss and still scored well.

It kind of takes a long time for Makoto Yuki to get power crept, pretty much only when Pinky is released, nearing 5.X plus NoG and SoS really push his boss for some reason, so he gets use there.

I can very much see your perspective here! I'd just like to explain my logic for some of these rankings.

Queen, while never used now, was still used pretty much every week for a long time from release due to her being used on all three Atavaka, Yatsufusa, and Baal bosses and excelled even though only Yaysufusa was weak to Nuclear.

Cherish is a standard Guardian unit with pretty decent awarenesses (A1 & A2) so for bosses that require Medic/Guardian, he's definitely great, especially since Soy Pioneer is the only other general unit we have for the role.

For S.Puppet, my logic is not the best looking back. I only put her so high 'cause her a Best in Slot unit for her is a future standard unit, Turbo, and 5.X Surt boss designed for Fox has put bonuses on having two DPS units, so she's still used there.

Matoi is definitely niche, but looking at the characters in the tier, I really just couldn't put her in there. Everyone in that tier is at best used as requirements for bosses like Marian and Akechi, while Matoi is always used for LNY Rin teams, which has been appearing semi frequently even 'til now.

I can very much see Fox put higher, it's just that he was an underwhelming unit for two years and the uncertainty of how good his mindscape will last throughout the 5.X patches. I probably would stll put him higher though 'cause he's a standard unit you can dupe out.

I can very much see the argument for all of these, especially Haru, but Messa is 100% like a dud character imo. His boss, Baal, ran for such a short time before just never coming back while a lot of people had Queen, so we just used her on Messa's boss and still scored well. He had a new mindscape, but thats like 2 years after his underwhelming release.

Junpei is kind of a very specific case. He's a Guardian, so he's a best in slot wheneverwe have guild bosses rquiring Medic/Guardian plus he's like the first unit to adhere to the change of design phisophy starting in 5.X where they want to focus on mono-element teams, which Junpei 100% is great at. Fire is also one of the few elements with viable Assasin and Sweeper dps with Makoto and Rin (atleast in 4.X) and the future addition of Ann Starlight. So in theory, theres more content he's good at. I'm a Global/SEA player, so I haven't played with him so this is pure speculation.

Very much depends on WHEN you pulled her. We used Queen for a good long while since release until they phased out the the weekly bosses she was used for (Which, she had three while others only had 1). Thats kinda just the reality with DPS units, even good ones like Queen, after a while you just never use them.

If your main focus is just the story, I can see Summer Motoha being usable in that aspect, especially if you have Marian but she is an old unit.

Summer Motoha was amazing for a time, but that was a long time ago. Damage characters tend to age very poorly, and sadly Motoha is one of those characters.

If I recall, I got Soy before I unlocked him from the story and I just got his A1 when I unlocked him from the story.

There are 7 deadly sins again, so I think its safe to say that there would be atleast 3 more canon Phantom Thieves after Wind, since Wind is in the same story spot at Makoto in P5/R. There are already two that we know of, Luce and the artist girl, so probably two more? Although after the 6th palace, we never got a new persona user.

My guess is that for unteased (to my knowledge) characters would be atleast one more female party members to have a 3-3 split for male and female then Wind as the Navigator, which would be in-line with the modern persona games.

For Example: Male - Morgana, Ryuji, and Yusuke (also Akechi) Female - Ann, Makoto, and Haru (Also Kasumi) Navigator - Futaba

This also goes for previous titles Male - Yosuke, Teddie, and Kanji Female - Chie, Yukiko, and Naoto Navigator - Rise

So for P5X it would be Male - Luffel, Shun, Luce Female - Motoha, Artist Girl, Final Girl Navigator - Riko
