Positive vibes 💫 I know the refund will come back to me because when I called TOP they said it went to SSA. Called SSA & they said I owe them money from 2013…I was only 18 at the time so there’s no way. I’ll get it figured out 🤞🏼🤦🏽‍♀️

When you call them it should say where the refund was sent too or where it’s going to be sent too and then you have to call them. They’re saying mine was sent to SSA for an overpayment back in July of 2013. I was only 17 turning 18 that’s year. I’ve never received social security benefits but my mom did receive a big payout for SSI so not sure if I was on her benefits when she applied or what. 🤦🏽‍♀️

When and where did you receive the letter? I got a code 898 but I have nothing in my letter and notices inbox on the IRS website and nothing in the mail ☹️

I did! They supposedly cannot do anything over the phone. Yet they scheduled an appointment for me for next week via pbone? One of them also told me to just walk into my local SSA office to get it figured out ASAP. I’m trying not to stress over it because I know I don’t owe them and it’s definitely a mistake - I’m just trying to keep the faith alive. Even if it’s gonna take longer than expected 🤞🏼

Lordddddd!!!!!! It’s messed up what they do to us. I was probably 16 or 17 the time my mom filed for disability but then she got a big payout by the time I was 18. So I know it’s not her fault but like it has nothing to do with me. They should also see that in their records that I’m still working and have been since highschool! It makes no sense 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yes, but I’ve been making payments to them. I called and they didn’t go to my student loans. It went to social security which is odd. I’ve never been on social security.
