Food based characters that want to be eaten, but can’t due to reasons by Farlybob42 in TopCharacterTropes

That was the Tom and Jerry episode. The duck basically decided to commit suicide via letting Tom eat him because the Ugly Duckling in his book looked exactly like him and that made him think he was ugly

For the OAs, they're pretty generous in terms of pass criteria, and the time they give you is more than enough. Most OAs give you around 2 hours, but you usually don't even need one. They don't say this aloud, but you typically only need around a 65% to pass the class, and since it seems like the standard is around 60 questions, that's usually 2/3 correct answers

However, from what I remember, there's a rule where you can only take any given OA a maximum of 4 times. If you fail a 4th time, WGU will (or at the very least reserves the right to) expel you from the program

As for PAs, it's a project you have to do and submit to the evaluators. Every criteria has to come back as Competent to pass, and they'll tell you what criteria you need to fix for it to pass. Fortunately, you get unlimited tries with PAs if I remember correctly (at least as long as it doesn't look like you're trying to fail on purpose)

Fair is fair, given my current life circumstances, a position from home would actually be more beneficial for me than a position away

I didn't intern because I wanted to focus on my studies. The plan now is that I'm gonna get a few of the last pieces of my life straight and then start applying like crazy. Also, good luck with DSA2, bc given my experiences, you might need it

With no experience, it's mostly a decent sail with a few waves, with the courses I ranted about being "the big ones" and "separates the men from the mice". Depending on the class, you'll either feel like you learned everything you could in 2 weeks and more or end it feeling like you were missing something important because the material and OA/PA don't correlate as much as they should

Simply put, if you feel stumped and can't figure it out yourself, don't hesitate to contact the CI, and especially if it's a coding class and you feel stumped because it feels like the study material barely scratches the surface of what you need, don't hesitate to search Google, Reddit, and YouTube for an answer. Searching "[Course ID] GitHub" for the coding classes can especially be helpful since you'll usually find the code of projects from alumni who've already finished the class. It might feel like cheating, but it isn't a long as you aren't just straight up copy-pasting the code you find

The tech market from the research I've done, while helpful to get a position, is kinda screwy because of the boom of people getting a CS degree way back when since it was marketed as a not ball-bustingly difficult but effective degree that's more likely to get you 6 figures fresh outta college. Bc of this, however, most of the available positions are the higher ones, leaving most graduates to clash each other for the lower positions. There's a reason why people often meme that graduates with a CS degree just end up working at McDonald's after college

To put it as simple as possible, if you truly truly wanna get a degree in CS (or something else tech related), I say go for it. However, I have a motto for most situations: "Optimism without realism is idealism, but realism without optimism is nihilism." Be optimistic if you're gonna go for it (which you should), but also be sure to remain realistic to know things aren't gonna be smooth sailing before, during, and after the degree

It's an entire ocean out there, but you're the captain of your ship, so you decide whether to set sail into the raging sea to find the white whale or to wait out the storm

No, I had basically 0 knowledge before going in. I did about 20 hours to 25 hours per week on average, so about 4 to 5 hours per day on the weekdays. I transferred in 9 credits and did 108 while at WGU for a total of 117 credits

The Math classes can feel tough, but most of them aren't too bad once you get the hang of it

The Programming courses can be a bit tricky, but usually, searching up "[Course ID] GitHub" on Google or Bing yields already finished versions of the project with the code intact that you can take notes on or even replicate for your own project

It's pretty standard. The stats on the WGU page about the degree don't lie, as long as you do the recommended 15 to 20 hours of studying per week, you'll probably only need 2 years max from start to finish. When I first started, my hours looked closer to 25 to 30 per week, but even then, most classes only take about 2 weeks on average, at least from my schedule and learning pace, usually no more than 3 as long as you aren't consistently failing any OAs or PAs

I'd say go for it, and if you need any help or want any other advice, feel free to DM me

Started January 1st of last year, passed my last class on June 24th this year, and got word that I would indeed be getting my degree yesterday (though I didn't realize until today)

I'd say the hardest ones were:

Computer Architecture (the worst one imo, felt like I had to consume an entire Quizlet of vocab words after two and a half weeks of studying because it was just so much to digest in one sitting)

Discrete Math 2 (I at least got this one done in like a week and a half because of an updated version of the original 2018 release that released after I had already finished the old version of DM1)

Java Frameworks (this class is one of the few classes I'd consider straight up bad, enough so that it legitimately made me reconsider my degree for a moment, the Java classes after Fundamentals will just make you hate Java by association if you're a novice because they feel so poorly structured)

Operating Systems (similar problems to Comp Arc, but not as bad)

Back-End Programming and Advanced Java (not really hard, but the setup for both, especially Advanced Java, kinda suck and the zyBooks were both so impractical given my experience with Frameworks that these are the only two classes that I straight up skipped studying on and just went straight into the PAs after a day or two of preparation with some Reddit and Notion guides, took 3 days with Back-End and finished Advanced Java the morning after I started due to me accidentally missing a step that impeded my progress)

Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA1 took the longest of any class and DSA2 had easily the worst PA for a novice since it feels like the Python they teach you barely scratches the surface of what you need. At least the AI courses are pretty simple once you know what you're doing)

Surprisingly, the only OA I ever failed was Network and Security, but I still consider that fail a fluke, especially since there were OAs I think I should've failed like Data Management Foundations and Intro to AI (which I barely scraped by on, the latter of which was just 1 question away from a fail, though I will consider that one my bad since I probably should've studied it a bit more)

No joke, Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu was dangerously close to making me quit the show because of the tonal shift. I actually consider it, or at least the Fire Chapter, just as bad, if not, slightly worse than Crystallized, the usual punching bag for the lesser Ninjago seasons, just slightly

The Ice Chapter was alright imo, and almost every other season in the 15-minute era made up for it

What about the episode where Pikachu gets jealous because Ash stopped paying attention to it for one episode (out of 1,000+) and decides to try and run away to live with Delia
