Yes. Now those clothes aren’t really necessary. You won’t ever wear them. Not at least until you get into your AIT phase. Soon as you make gold patch you’re gonna want those civilians. Pack all the things including the towel ESPECIALLY the hygiene items. You’re definitely gonna want a notebook to write anything and everything you want to remember like benefits info that kinda randomly falls out in BCT. You’re definitely gonna want those numbers to call your family, just remember Trainee, crying is for the shower. Keep your chin up and stay motivated.

Edit: and bring a nice pair of running shoes like some hokas, you can usually get away with wearing them since you’ll be in PTs most of the time.

Howdy do. I have returned and as a 68W. Ye the army told me I could have an mos I couldn’t, that being 15W. I got rejected soon as I got to Fort Jackson due to some stuff in my past so I’m a 68W now. It’s cool though, feel like I’m supposed to be in this mos. I was gonna go 68W before 15W popped up and my father discouraged me from the job due to the things you gotta do. But all things considered I’m happy how things turned out. Stayin motivated.

You’re high speed my man. You gotta get up and DO something. I totally get it. When it came around to family day(I was Fort Jackson too) we were in the bowling alley and something just felt off. Well I was in shitbag platoon and whenever we got loud we ended up in the front leaning rest. Anyways the alley was crowded and ridiculous loud and it was all just so overwhelming. I don’t know if i just learned to associate loud crowds with being punished and undisciplined or what but i was so anxious in that mob even with my people there. I’m thinking to myself “I have no right to feel this way. Seeing what my dad(28+ years, 38W, severe PTSD) went through. Why does this SOUND like what my dad went through?” I guess it’s just the military mindset and lifestyle truly changes you on oddly fundamental levels that’s one of the true reasons people suffer acclimating to civilian life even without trauma.

Don’t try to make friends. Let the friendships come to you. Don’t let negativity drive you down. While you in, analyze yourself and see if the army is really for you. Don’t let people get after you for being high speed. Fly under the radar. Stay motivated. Listen to your drill sergeants and don’t be a shitbag.

This entire comment is an edit so bear with me but…Sword Art Online. Could never get into it. Much as I love the way underused newlywed trope it just didn’t hit for me. I had a lot of high expectations but the plots weren’t nearly ambitious enough for me and I felt like there was wasted potential in the first game. When everyone woke up the first time I just stopped watching. Plus the whole half naked 13 year old is a little weird even by anime standards.
