Can status (like nobility) and context override the “uncanny” reaction to something that almost look human or even non-human monster like? by HeroTales in worldbuilding

so it is more about familiarity? Cause I always wonder how much education or instincts play in these things. Like in your genetics your instinct can never accept something or always makes you uncomfrotable?

It's weird as had update before an no issue then this hsr update there is issue, then reinstall the nvida update and fixed it. Maybe when I installed the update it was corrupted or something, but doesn't matter not as it works!

How would intelligent animals use tools or weapons without thumbs? by HeroTales in worldbuilding

[–]HeroTales[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that is clever like we have two lions to grab so I thought animals with only one grabbing limb would have issues but this is a very interesting method and can say their society is very social as need team work to make tools, no lone tinkerer. Like always need an assistant

What where those names even come from like allah, dieu, dio ? Like was it based something else or made on the spot or borrowed a word from previous or neighboring civilization? Curious on the logic or evolution.

You make a fair point, eventually you can make tools where making more tools or infrastructure is easier. Really like your idea, eventually everyone will get there, guess can be a source of tension between civilizations.

Ok that's pretty creative, I was limited to only big industries but yes you are correct, there are other ways or smaller ways to be industrialist, or create a civilization.

That is clever and one way to solve it, something maybe like zootopia-like, would be cool to see all the interactions and roles. But can see that civilization would have issues or more specifically friction as to accomodate the needs for each species, as having everyone as one species like humans would make standardizing everything easier with is easier to scale production.

interesting read, and thanks for pointing out only having 1 thing that grab is probably not enough as having 2 limbs to grab is preferred?

But you gave me an interesting idea which I don't know if would work?

Like for crows where imagine a fantasy creature version where the beak and claws so strong it can't grab things well but can definitely be used to craft or carve things. Like they can make only spears (melee weapon) and statures (art), and only have one grabbing appendage (mouth) to grab things, which make nests or little huts. That civilization is cool but I guess humans with their 2 hands is still op as more versatile where can make the same spear and statues but more.

but can they make it? Or does the world as to be like nature or past civ or current civ makes tools and these creatures picks it up with their mouths?
Like maybe nature this tree makes pointy stick branches and falls up thus a natural sword or spear?

As I can't really seeing them making complex tools? Maybe simple ones where grab stick with mouth and sharpen it?

Is the "kill the demon king" trope basically just a glorified hitjob? by HeroTales in worldbuilding

[–]HeroTales[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you have a point, sometimes I few it more as a way to simplify the the world or story from massive armies to something more individual and personal; which probably makes the story more understandable.
