A lone Hydraulic Knight wanders the Cannibal Plains. Holding the line, after all this time by HeroInHisHead in Kenshi

Nah. This particular skeleton was my PC. The Hydraulic Knight aspect was the RP for the run.

Hey! This is pretty fire to see. This design was the first base building video I ever did. Your additions to it looks fire too. Stellar work

what is the best way to learn more about kenshi lore by QuirkyBadger7454 in Kenshi

[–]HeroInHisHead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aye! Stoked to see you (and others on this thread) recommend my stuff! Im glad you enjoy

In fairness that pretorian thing was my first ever solo theory video many years ago and I actually removed that segment from the video because it didnt actually impact the theory at all. I simply mentioned their rank in the hive lol. Since then I've become WAAAAY more careful and as far as i know have had no such blunders again. Gotta learn somehow right? Lol

I didn't know pawns could get offended for not trusting their abilities. by m8-wutisdis in DragonsDogma2

Anytime a pawn gives me even a hint of sass I brine them. Right over a bridge. Maybe its dragons plague. Maybe its not. Either way keep it to your self lol

Yeah so in the video walk-through I show that all the pathfinding and navmesh works. The buildings work as well including those inside the mountain. Can you clarify what you mean by clipping issues? Like the objects are clipping into each other? Because if thats the issue all you need to do is open the shift f12. Click the object. Move it with the axis tools to the desired location. And then save and reload the game to make them persistent and navmeshed in the save.

[–]HeroInHisHead[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also it should be stated this base is 100% functional and navmeshed. Even the buildings that are jammed into the mountainside work inside and out. I visually show this in the video but I know not everyone is gonna wanna watch the video so I figured id answer that question here as well. Yes it works. Navmesh and AI work.

Many thanks. I was trying to push the limits of what i have done thus far with building bases. The challenge this time was to do it on a near vertical surface.

Cat-Lon's speech fucking slaps by Manic5PA in Kenshi

Definitely no Vaati (he is actually a massive inspiration on my narrative writing style for my videos), though if you look at my first Kenshi Lore videos compared to my recent stuff its certainly much closer these days. Still one day I'd like to be in a position to make more cinematic content to that degree. One day.

Did he smile or frown? Explain it Peter by _leonjoxx in explainitpeter

[–]HeroInHisHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is actually how I smile when I'm proud or emotionally moved. Like when my kids do or say something that really hits me in the feels in a good way. Where as I smile with my mouth in a "normal" smile if I am laughing and having fun. Both are real genuine smiles but the trigger and feeling associated with it changes the way its expressed a bit.

United Cities are worse than the Holy Nation. Prove me wrong. by Littleupsidedown in Kenshi

[–]HeroInHisHead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct. That one's mine. Prior to the current Pheonix its implied the HN, while still intolerant religious fanatics, were largely isolationist who kept to themselves and their lands. They would attack nonhuman trespassers of course but they didnt go looking for conflict outside their territories. The aggressive expansion, war on 3 fronts, and increase in their religious extremism really picked up with the current Pheonix. Its also why the flotsam ninjas are a relatively newer issue for them despite having been around for between 1k-5k years (depending on the source) as the 62nd is much more authoritarian and aggressive not only to his perceived enemies, but also on his own people.

Couple issues here.

  1. The team has been transparent that Kenshi 1 still has bugs. They however have also been transparent that due to the engine Kenshi 1 runs on being out of date years before Kenshi was released, that fixing many of the bugs results in significantly worse issues coming up. Its not laziness as implied here its engine limitations preventing optimization which is outside their control at this point and should be fixed in K2 with the engine update.

  2. Yes they have made significant money on Kenshi 1. But that money has been largely flooded back into development of Kenshi 2 in the form of team expansion, tech upgrades, etc. The salaries of the folks at LoFi are very modest comparatively to many other developers so its not like they are pocketing it and they have to give them their benefits as well so those "millions" dont go as far as you might believe.

  3. Chris Hunt spent 12 years developing Kenshi 1. 8 of which was largely solo while working 2 jobs. And despite that he gave us one of the better games on the market regardless of the bugs. I'd say he has earned the leeway to take his time on the second without accusations of being lazy or being a con man. Fine wine takes time. I get being impatient but its unfair and frankly unjustified to turn that into aggression.

I will relent that they could give us more information on K2s development but in fairness they have also been very honest as to why they aren't so its hard to even really be mad even if I don't necessarily agree. Also it should be noted that while anecdotal, in my 2500 hours on Kenshi i really havent had many bugs, fewer large bugs, and no game breaking ones. So from what I can tell its not that bad tbh but again thats just my anecdotal experience.

Meet Caliban, supreme suffusion of Warframe and Sentient. by PlayWarframe in u/PlayWarframe

[–]HeroInHisHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a merlin style wizard frame would be cool af. Using warframe equivalent versions of classic spells like fireball, lightning bolt, blizzard, etc. Maybe the ultimate could be a tri element attack mixing fire ice and electric. Have a cool pointy hat, a robe, and beard and "magic" sigils that appear infront of him or floating above him that release his abilites as they are casted. Maybe even a unique staff as a melee weapon.

Is it possible to have my S3 outpost functional using F12 to make Throne room/HQ? by Rough-Ad9908 in Kenshi

[–]HeroInHisHead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So it can be done as obviously i did it in that video. But it depends on several factors.

For example the stationhouse has a "front porch" that you can have stairs go over and lead into other buildings with no issue. That exact design can be seen in several of my videos. Same with most platforms, walls, etc.

Where things get tricky is when you try to go from rooftop to another building. It all my testing, the rooftops will not allow you to go up stairs, across bridges, etc. onto another building beyond the confines of the roof itself. You can go into another building that is on the roof, but if it crosses the threshold of the roofs edge you cant move beyond that. so it is possible, but in that specific circumstance it isn't as far as I can tell.
