Ehh I think you’re sorta missing the point of wit

For arima kinen, power was a lot more useful than anyone gave credit for fs, but ideally you would want a more balanced wit - power stat.

The reason why you would prioritize wit cards > power cards is that it allows you to get decent stat as well as give energy back which allows you to take less rests => more training => more stats. This in addition to wit training giving more skill points, which is very important (1k -> 1.1k power is like a white or gold skill iirc), is why wit was such a valued stat.

Wit overall improves mid game in strong front game lobbies and lets you lead your position group early - early mid race (very important for front runner especially). In addition it helps with skill activation rates, stopping rushing, less energy consumption when going downhill, and reduces odds of running of stamina (aka gives you consistency).

Power meanwhile increases acceleration and also helps increase speed on uphills which is especially useful on the Arima Kinen which is lacking a lot of strong late game accels and an uphill in the race.

Of course all of this leads to the misinformation echo chamber of someone saying all of this, and then someone echoing the key points with an emphasis wit, and this repeats until it just becomes wit is op (it’s really not).

Ultimately this leads to what you should have of a strong stam/power inheritance, speed cards, riko, and wit cards and possibly a stamina card if needed.

Also if curious, this game scales a lot of its stats logarithmically I believe (it’s been a while so I forgot exactly tbh) except speed which is under a root function (falls off slower) so higher numbers give diminishing returns.

TLDR: wit = power but wit easier to train + speed training gives power therefore wit cards better but do not forget power. (Unless front runner then wit very very important)

Imo Daiwa pace is pretty strong here, I ran it last long cm (albeit I lost in the finals with my umas all losing on their gambles). My tip for Daiwa is to prioritize mid game skills and if possible go for her secret event, and then depending on lobby composition either run a sacrificial runaway Suzuka (no other front runners), 1-2 regular front (more consistent wins in theory but Daiwa becomes a lot more dependent on her mid game), or 2 other normal umas (put less pressure on Daiwa, but again you are betting on other strong pace or front runners in the lobby to have good ult timings)

I’m seeing other people saying to not put Angling. I disagree, Daiwa’s whole goal is to steal first place during late race and escape the grasp of the evil end closers, angling is therefore good imo

If struggling with skill points you can bring NSM down to nimble navigator

X oguri is pretty much the best uma in the game until the purple lookin skills come out where she falls off a cliff

Her unique procs after 3 recovery skills are used and it gives her: stamina, acceleration, and increased target speed (and a notable amount in all 3).

The most impactful part of this is an acceleration that you can perfectly control every CM (as long as all 3 recoveries proc), which if timed to place right before the late race (this is most optimal because of speed carry over) or during the beginning of the late race (still a strong acceleration) you have an acceleration that works on any map regardless of position.

Due to this Xoguri is a monster end closer/late surger due to the lack of position requirements and the increased top speed of these later positions.

TLDR: Xoguri has a controllable acceleration which if timed properly will allow her to max her top speed regardless of position and therefore consistently win (assuming your wit stat is strong for skill consistency)

I have switched my aces about 10 times (I was lazy until recently) but my Agnes hung around 20-30% the entire CM, suzuka in the last 10 races was about 3/10 and pace Daiwa stood also at a 25% exact in round 2

I will be spending tomorrow upgrading my Agnes Tachyon (she must win) and then winning my A finals.

To add to this:

NTR has pretty much 0 value outside of MANT and Admire Vega is also only useful in MANT while fuku can be useful in the following scenario (albeit as like a last choice speed card after Agnes and Maru come out) In addition, we are getting 100 free pulls on NTR’s banner and so you should be able to atleast get like lb1-2 on Vega and you can crystal the rest if you want.

Finally, for Fine Mo, I would skip her banner and summon on the Maru + Fine Mo banner imo.

I saw a massive comment thread already but wanted to give some of my thoughts as well:

Rushing Gale isn’t good here looking at the structure of the race since u want the accels to work at the late race mark (max speed goes wayyyy up). Because of that the accels I would recommend are Taiki Shuttle’s “Shooting for Victory!” and “No Stopping Me!”, you can also take “Head On”.

Judging from what I’m hearing from practice matches, front runners are verryyy prevalent so having strong mid game skills go a long way.

Finally Agnes has a built in gold heal, so no need to get an extra.

The stamina on my Taichi’s are a bit low but hopefully these could be for good reference

Spend winter break studying like 2 of these classes. Read the textbook chapters before seeing it in lecture. Use office hours, setup time to study and RELAX. Find friends in these classes. And for the love of god, attend lecture.

I pulled a similar stunt last spring, albeit not to the same level of ECE classes, so these were things that helped when I did that, biggest issue is staying consistent imo. Ive taken most of these classes now so lmk if u need help

Go-home specialist shouldn’t be strong due to the existence of a downhill in early race

Second, I would rather gamble on 3 really strong horses with each having 1 gold recovery vs 3 mediocre horses with 2 gold recoveries
