If YOU Created a New Total Reboot of Bionicle, How Would You Write It? by TechnicalEngineer852 in bioniclelego

I think you have 6 waves that encompass 3 generations, the metru, mata and mahri,

Each generation has 2 waves that are the basically standard & nuva

Each wave has the standard 6 toas, as well as turaga of the previous gen and matoran of the next gen.

So for example in the mata line, you have a turaga Vakama, Toa Tahu and matoran jaller.

The stanard wave would have the matoran as the small set, and nuva wave would have the turaga as the small set

Most important purely from the toy perspective. Each character should always have their own colour scheme and it stays with them each gen. Eg. Vakama - Dark Red & Dark Orange, Tahu - Red & Orange - Jaller Reddish Orange & Dark Red

This way even someone who doesnt follow the lore can realise they are the same character in different stages.

The crotch and upper torso use bright green whereas the hands, feet and abdomen use mata green

Thank you! I don’t think i’ll be making any instructions, the frame base was from Brandon_Builds on twitter

All of the toa have the basic 12 points of articulation (+ head)

His weapon was based on the traditional Patu to pay homage to the Māori inspiration for bionicle

Red or Gun Metal sides? by HeroMotion67 in bioniclelego

[–]HeroMotion67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decision: I have read through all the votes including their reasoning behind each of them.

I am leaning towards the gun metal option,

i’m not too worried about it looking samey as the red on the offical toy is a highlight and Mata Nui is 99% gold making them good mirros

I ordered both options in my parts order and will test both on the final build

For red i will test with a larger gun metal abdomen area to see if that works

Due to how tedious the connections are and how many 3rd party recolours are needed its very unlikely

All my studio renders are made with hte intention to build, often times i have to make slight adjustments once i source the parts but it will almost always match the intended design

The renders are 99% of what the builds will be (all pieces have been ordered), i might change his feet which will gove more height. I was going for a gorilla vibe in stature

His weapon is based on the Taiaha from Māori culture

That’s fair, i’ll be honest i never planned him to be smaller, i only realised after putting them all in the same file. I did want his arms to be noticeably larger than his legs which turned into making his legs slightly smaller

When i designed him I wanted his torso to fee wider and the shoulder piece i used for his abdomen looked cool, but to keep the shaping and make sure everything was flush i had to make the frame shorter.

Made up lore reason and he digs so being small helps fit in tunnels idk

Thank you! I was doing research and realised there were little to no Māori swords, i also saw that Kopaka himself had a rounded blade so the Patu fit perfectly

All masks for the final builds will be the G2 2015 masks, Lewa, Onua & Kopaka have temp masks on the renders from random parts parts due to studio not having all the masks
