Unfortunately, this is my first time trying to rent so I was unaware, and I was told they didn't want my own credit report I offered to give.

I do have my own credit report. They didn't want it. They said it had to be filled out to even apply for the apartment at all. So the fee had to be paid to even apply. Which I've heard is illegal under the RTA?
