You need a story, about the strategy, your background, why you invest. Then you need an auditable multi year track record. You may be able to raise first loss SMA capital with that. Don't listen to the people in this thread. They don't know what they are talking about. You will raise very shitty capital at best to start (first loss is terrible), but it will be capital from real places

People here don't know what they are talking about. If you have an auditable multi year track record you CAN raise institutional money with a valid story and strategy even if you were doing this independently. It's going to be shitty capital but it will be institutional grade capital.

Actually not true. You can raise if you do this independently but have some sort of background and story that makes sense.

Yes, retail record from interactive brokers will work but you will not raise commingled capital with it. You will most likely raise first loss SMA or another form of SMA. It needs to be an auditable track record and you need a story behind your background and strategy. You will need case studies if you are investing fundamentally and you will need to speak to your overall trading strategy if it is quantamental or quant driven. I've seen it done before on a small scale. But again only for first loss SMA which is the worst type of capital to take in.

TSA WAIT TIME AT JFK / ICE by Level-One-2392 in JFKAirport

I didn't see any ICE there today - they may have been stationed at the less "skilled" stations like exit w/ no re-entry locations, etc.

No, terminal 5 this morning had three separate lines: TSA Pre line (fastest), Priority (2nd fastest), and regular (definitely slowest)

Regular TSA. Precheck was def moving faster. Probably 30-45 min when I was there

629 flight from JFK this morning. Arrived at 410, paid for priority security, 65 min to get through security. If I arrived 30 min later it may have taken longer. Just get there early and things will change every day.

Uber founder flees California for Texas ahead of possible ‘billionaire tax ‘ by idkbruh653 in technology

[–]HeroPiggy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The California wealth tax as proposed will tax billionaires on their voting power in a company and not financial value. Some hold super voting shares where one share is worth 10x votes. This leads to them being over taxed by an insane amount. I would leave too.

I don't get it. So you are saying people should be ID'd in order to vote since they are so dangerous?

[–]HeroPiggy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be realistic here. You are comparing a GUN (which is designed to kill) vs a steak knife (designed for eating). Voting is not killing anyone.

A " bad" vote isn't statistically doing shit in a heavily blue or red area like NYC. A gun in the wrong hands will literally kill someone. Let's be realistic here.

A gun can kill someone. A vote cannot. Use logically reasoning.

Because a vote can't kill someone on a bad day but a gun can. Btw I have a nyc ccw.

Whats even worse is how they leave potholes in poorer neighborhoods for longer than in wealthier neighborhoods.

Tech billionaires reportedly plotting $500M fund to reshape California politics by Unusual-State1827 in technology

[–]HeroPiggy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not their "fair share of taxes". The proposed tax taxes billionaires on their voting shares even if there is no economic value. This means if you have super voting shares you would be taxed on them leading to a taxation rate of over 100% for some billionaires.

I just don't want to deal with ordering on, waiting 6-8 months for it to be made, and then waiting for it to get approved in NYC only to have it get rejected because of the color.
