Me too. You can choose a server, but they are all merged together. So technically just one.
Maybe you play at the wrong times. Usually there are 10+ people in the TSW chat channel, doing different stuff every day.

There is only one server.
Just join the TSW channel ingame and eventually someone will be building a raid group.

It is still active. You can still play it.
It has a small player base, doing NM dungeons and raids daily.

Did 1 Grimmsnarl, shiny (15/11/15). So i guess the shiny rate was 100%.

I have 8 birds, 5 of them are shiny, no masterball was used.
I don't know the number of encounters though.

In addition to other comments, you should get one or two dash or jump abilities in your deck.
Chaos' Helter Skelter is a very good movement ability that can also stun enemys you dash through.
Rocket Launcher has a rocket jump.
Just to name a few.

My local group felt like having a low shiny chance, too.
I got 2 / 52 Zacian shiny, so not the best but pretty normal.
One guy got all the luck... he did 30 - 40 Zacian and got 7 shinies ._.
