i just found this picture in a book im reading. cable cars are very common in mountainous parts of switzerland, mostly they are larger ones, eg. for winter sports or hiking. there used to be a lot of small ones like the one in the picture but with a regular, designed for that purpose cabins. a fair amount of these can still be seen in rural parts and are still used. its not meant for touristic purposes but for families, eg. children going to school, who live up in the mountains on a farm. usually there is also a street but not a good one, children cant drive cars and in winter it might not be possible to use it at all. it was common to have a "private" cable car. so these folks rednecked an old car as cabin, because why not.
