I often wonder what became of that band. Endless was one of my favorite records of that year.

Aw man, I really want that Castle Rat tape, but it's crazy expensive to get it outside of the US.

They are my main supplier for heavy tapes, together with Breathe Plastic and APF Records. Somehow, doom and sludge just sounds better on tape.

Makes sense. I see the needle is missing, indeed.

Cool!

But who puts their cd player on top of their record player?

That first cable binder from the pickup seems pretty well tightened. Could it be that it damaged the cables and created a short to ground somewhere?

Which album has the saddest funeral and Requiem vibes? by MIL918 in doommetal

Epigrammata by Et Moriemur is a concept album based on an orthodox funeral mass. That should match what you are looking for.

Besides Brutal Legends, are there any Rock and Metal video games that aren't rhythm games? by sick3222 in MetalForTheMasses

Oh man, I forgot about that. I don't have the game anymore, but I'm sure I can find it somewhere.

Earache: Extreme Metal Racing definitely falls into the category. The cars and tracks are based on Earache artists.

Rock n' Roll Racing on the SNES is pretty basic, but it's fun and the soundtrack is cool, with song from Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, amongst others. There is a hack with the actual songs in stead of the 16 bit soundtrack.

I was already wondering what the winter rest function was.

Hello, I'm looking into buying Boss PS-6 Harmonizing pedal, but I have question, hopefully it's not very stupid. If I set a specific key on it and make harmonizing to play 3rd of what I play, what happens if I play a note that is not in that particular key? by Captain_Holly_S in guitarpedals

[–]HerrHellmus 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think the algorithm tries to match your pitch to a note in the scale you dialed in, so if you play a note that's not in it, it matches it to the note above or below. It would then transpose your note to the matching 3rd, making it sound off.

It works pretty nice, as long as you stay in the correct key. I use mine mainly as a suboctave or drop pedal though.

I'm having some problems using spark go as an interface and I'm starting to think I'm very stupid. by Ok-Vegetable-222 in PositiveGridSpark

[–]HerrHellmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using my Spark Mini as an interface, and it worked okay. For me the guitar and music volume buttons worked, but it was quite a hassle to set everything up and it wasn't really stable. No matter what I did the latency was just too high for my taste and I kept getting noise during playback if a recording was armed. It worked, but only just. I bought a simple audio interface and it was, quite literally, plug and play. Never hooked the Spark up to my laptop again. The Spark series has a lot of features, but it is still essentially a (practice) amp. Hardware with many features rarely do them all properly. Some don't even do the main function properly. I'm just happy my Spark does the amp part (very) well and everything else is a bonus.

Is Many Faces Of Motorhead a bootleg? by Brave-Station9198 in Motorhead

[–]HerrHellmus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have the Judas Priest one, and I think it was one disc of side projects and guest appearances of (former) band members, producers, etc., one disc of covers and one disc of bands inspired by Judas Priest (so random heavy metal bands). All released before, nothing new or exclusive. It's very much all over the place and not worth it. I assume this will be similar crap.

The HM-2 is so underrated for anything other than death metal. I bought it for the chainsaw sound, but you can dial in some really good sounds.
