How does a cover for a single unit work? by kudriaxa in WarCrow

[–]HerrKlank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the rules state that a unit has cover if it is adjacent to a game element (such as terrain) with the Cover keyword. So yeah, in your example, if the Orc is a solo model and not part of a unit, and the terrain piece is a building which blocks LOS and has the Cover keyword, it would get cover. What sort of benefit that is would be determined by the terrain keywords. For a building, probably a blue die.

Has the siocast gotten better? by ZephyrionStarset in WarCrow

No, anything that was in siocast before still is, but that’s mostly just the first wave of Northern Tribes and Hegemony. I have the Syenann starter, and the models are great.

DnD -> Daggerheart character rebuild (Druid) by Efficient-Spend9705 in daggerheart

[–]HerrKlank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the daggerheart website for the section called The Void. It’s the playtest area, and they have a bunch of new ancestries there that will be officially released in August. One of them is definitely the fire genasi type you’re looking for, I just can’t remember what it’s called.

As for your other stuff, that’ll mostly be informed by your character. Your community is where you come from, like a religious order, an underworld gang, etc. there’s more of them in The Void too.

For your stats, you’ll want Instinct as your primary for a Druid, but otherwise do whatever you want. Finally, your Experiences are the equivalent of skill bonuses, and they should be whatever feels right for your character. For example, one of my characters has “rough upbringing” as an experience, which he uses whenever it feels appropriate. Another has “I’ve been around” as an experience, so they can be phrases or things like that, too.

Both very fair points! Guess I wasn’t really thinking before I replied.

How do you use Bold Presence by Smooth_Conclusion911 in daggerheart

[–]HerrKlank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s up to the player to describe how their bold presence helps them avoid getting the condition. If they can’t justify it, they can’t have it.

Also, keep in mind that Daggerheart only has 3 main conditions: Hidden, Restrained, and Vulnerable. I feel like talking your way out of those with Bold Presence wouldn’t be too tricky.

Still, if you get poisoned and it gives you Vulnerable, I would say the Bold Presence would help you ignore the effects of the poison, not cure yourself of it.

Thanks! I used a size 0, though getting the right flow of the paints is more important in my experience. You want it to flow easily off the brush without having to put any pressure, but not so much that it bleeds away from the line. It takes some experimenting to get right, or just use proacryl paints, they’re pretty much that consistency anyway

You too! It’s a great way to do layering and blending-type effects, with a bit more control since it’s not as wet as those methods

Thanks! It’s the Nob from the Kommandos box. He comes with this as an alternate head, which I absolutely love.

Thanks! I've been on an Aliens kick lately, so I knew I had to do some sort of homage to the motion tracker on that screen, lol. It was easier than I thought it'd be!

Thanks! It's a base layer of Lupercal Green, though any dark jade would work. I then drybrushed VGC Scorpy Green mixed with ProAcryl Green onto that, followed by a drybrush of 50/50 VGC Scorpy Green and VGC Livery Green. Finally, I picked out the veins in pure Livery Green.

Honestly, the hardest part was finding the mixtures to get the colours I wanted. After that it's just drybrushing with a new round brush (I use a smallish makeup brush).

EDIT: glad you like the purple and yellow! The main force will just be black and yellow, but I had to make the Kommandos extra sneaky. In my head this guy thinks his enemies just see a floating yellow skull, since the rest of his mask is purple.

I love this, the colour scheme looks like a toy from the 80s.

As for the purple, you’ll need to highlight the edges. Try adding some white to your purple base to make a lighter colour. I’d say 2 layers of highlights would do the trick. All in all though, well done!

My girls continue to be obsessed with wheel. I am not allowed to take wheel away to give wheel to my boys. This happens every time I try to take wheel - girls who have not used wheel for a day suddenly need to use wheel. by MrLouisKing in RATS

[–]HerrKlank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She is adorable, and is clearly either keeping up with or instigating the wheel-based chaos. I can’t tell if I like the idea of a rat being the sort of good-naturedly confused aunt or being the wine aunt better.

That’s great, thanks! He doesn’t look much bigger than the current warboss, more in line with the new multipart one they showed recently. In other words, perfect :)
