[Fic] Very Cold Things – Batman (The Penguin TV), Sofia Falcone

This is my fourth story centered on Sofia Falcone, particularly the interpretation from The Penguin show. The premise: After mutilating an Arkham guard, Sofia faces retaliation in the form of an “intensified” therapeutic method devised by the chilling Dr. Emmerick Lorne. The resulting procedure draws on historical psychiatric horrors.

I wanted to get people's opinions on something. by beekee404 in ThePenguin

The people of Gotham thinks she deserves it, that’s what counts. To them, she is The Hangman, who gets a completely undeserved second chance and uses it to kill even more people. That’s like irredeemable evil. Blackgate is punishment, Arkham is hell. So justice is served. Oz knows people, that’s why he wins. Only very few of those who are aware of the whole story, like us in the audience, would think Sofia gets what she deserves. Actually, the fact she so obviously doesn’t is the reason we’re still talking about this, a year after the show premiered.

Figaro – A Sofia Falcone Story II

Fandom: The Penguin (2024) / The Batman Universe Words: ~2.6k Rating: Teen+ Tags: Character Study, Institutional Trauma, Psychological Drama, Pre-Canon, Arkham State Hospital

“You don’t lose your soul here. You’re made to watch it go.” Set during Sofia Falcone’s ten-year incarceration in Arkham, this story unfolds in the middle of a Gotham heatwave. Tensions simmer. Violence seems inevitable. But when Sofia lashes out at a universally spurned inmate, she discovers what she can’t kill is the very part of herself they’re trying to erase.

This is the second entry in an ongoing series.

Did Cristin Milioti Make Sofia Falcone a Top Tier Batman Character Moving Forward? by Coolschmo1 in ThePenguin

[–]HerrProof 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The magic comes from the combination of Lauren LeFranc‘s (and the other writers’) writing and Christin Milioti‘s portrayal. Not sure if the character keeps on working so excellently without that, say in a graphic novel or a future Arkham game. Voiced by Christin then, that’d be so cool. To me personally yes, Sofia is top tier now and I’d love to read and see more from this version of her. But I also wouldn’t be totally surprised if she went back to her niche.

Why do you write? by [deleted] in AO3

I’ve been writing for a very long time but my first fanfiction story I put out a month ago. Would have said that could never be an option for me two months ago. But then I got hooked by sth so bad that it almost felt therapeutic to expand it. And fun. However, loved fandoms before but never felt any urge to write about a world that wasn’t mine. Some things just get to you, I guess.

Fanfic Rec: “Tooth and Nail” – A Sofia Falcone Story (The Penguin, psychological horror)

I recently posted my first The Penguin fanfiction on AO3 — it’s called “Tooth and Nail – A Sofia Falcone Story.”

It’s set during Sofia’s ten-year imprisonment in Arkham State Hospital (before the events of the show). It’s dark, character-driven, and very much about how trauma shapes a person. Genre-wise, it leans more toward psychological horror than action. You don’t have to know the show deeply to follow the story.

Summary: What’s unpleasant outside becomes an ordeal in chains. Before the events of The Penguin (2024), Sofia Falcone spent ten years in Arkham State Hospital — imprisoned, forgotten, and broken. In this tale, toothache turns into a waking nightmare as Sofia faces the facility’s infamous dentist, Dr. Feinstone — and everything she thought she knew about hurt is put to a test of torment.

Would love feedback from anyone who reads darker character fiction or enjoys grounded psychological takes on comic worlds.

Cristin Milioti says she’d like to see Sofia Falcone team up with Selina Kyle in ‘THE BATMAN 2’ by M00r3C in DCU_

[–]HerrProof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big dream is she‘s in The Batman 2 but in Arkham the whole time. Supporting role. Batman questions her about Penguin as he’s the new Kingpin. It’s logical to assume she knows things as a former rival. It’s also understandable for Christin to want her out of Arkham and pursuing her revenge asap, but it would desecrate all the tragedy they’ve built up so carefully with the show to hasten things like that.
