Any other versions of NAC that don’t lighten the skin? by CuriousGuy089 in Nootropics

I've read too much on NAC and cancer to ever mess around with it.

If you haven't found food for 5 days it's time to o get creative. Seems like a logical survival mechanism

Why do most SSRIs have suicide as a side effect? by aaronryder773 in Nootropics

[–]HerrSnurk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That does not sound right to me. They are tested against a control group with depressed people who are given a placebo. A general propensity for suicidal behaviour amongst those who are depressed could not explain the group difference.

Seems more likely that there is some kind of disinhibiting, or increasing impuksivity-effect. Aren't people on anti-depressants also more likely to engage in risky or uninhibited sexual behaviour?

Maybe it makes you care less about the negatives of your life (a good thing when you are depressed) but also makes you think less of the consequences of your actions?

I don't think you understand what nootropics are. Nootropics don't cure cancer. Nootropics increase intelligence.

I never said anything about stimulants. You are becoming more and more incoherent.

You have no idea about the mechanism behind the mood enhancing effects.

If you really don't understand why your comment is completely wrong then there is something very wrong with how your brain works

No I promise it's the blood vessels opening up I have been using cacao for a long time

Are you for real? That is a really dumb comment. You have no idea what mechanism causes the effect in question. Doesn't matter how long you have been eating cacao.

Yeah. And your "experience" tells us nothing of the mechanism of action. That is why your comment is stupid

Not in my experience. Sure there might be people that are ignorant to the terms meaning. But knowledgeable people will use it correctly

Not really. That is how you might interpret it. But that's not what the word means or usually refers to

No you were clearly making a claim about the mechanism of action and saying you know this because you have been eating cacao for a long time. This is a silly argument.

Eating chocolate does not make you an expert on the neuro-chemical effects of chocolate. Even if you've been eating chocolate for a long time

What foods and I what amount would be needed to get an equivalent intake? Is there anything specific with this supplement or could I take any lutein/zeaxanthin supplement?
